Comments (17)I really like the idea of using colors that are adjacent on a strip for MBR and Bath. I've got samples hanging on the walls right now of BM Palladian Blue in the Bedroom and BM Wythe Blue in the Bath, and I'm about 90% certain that those colors will be the ones. Also looking at the SW Strip that has 6211 Rainwashed and 6212 Quietude-those look very close to the Palladian and Wythe but they seem to me a bit less intense....See MoreQuestion About Matching Bedroom Furniture
Comments (12)I also like mixing and matching though I must confess my bedroom has matched furniture before I became more adventuresome with my decorating. I also try to mainly work within the same wood tone in mixing in my other rooms of my home, though I particularly like the inclusion of a painted piece or two in the mix. When you mention painting your existing set, you are still thinking in terms of the collection and not of creating a collected look. If you could post pictures of what you have now, I am sure you will get some excellent suggestions how you could tweak what you have now without starting all over. Even just the addition of one vintage piece could have a huge impact. Rooms like Allison's take a lot of vision and most likely evolved over many years of collecting. I also find her rooms inspirational....See MoreHelp Me decide on Paint Color for Master Bedroom/Bath
Comments (10)To answer your direct questions: Put the darker color behind the bed headboard and then decide if you want one accent wall (usually a lot of contrast) or if you want to have two walls each color. The Santorini Blue is not baby blue, but I would put a color swatch in your room to see how it looks in different light if you decide to go in that direction. Glass Slipper is more ice blue than baby blue. I LOVE the Santorini blue, but thought it was too dark to have on all four walls. Your bedding is very neutral and very pretty. When I look at it I think "irredesence" or opal. Everyone does this differently, but I tend to decide what I want a room to FEEL like and then go from there. For our bedroom I thought "sleeping in the clouds". Hence, I have blues, whites, creams and beige. For our bathroom I wanted "beach spa". I also suggest you look through the bathroom pictures on the bathroom forum. I found several inspirational rooms that worked with the tile and cabinets we had. I think one of the reasons you are struggling is that you are working with "what matches" instead of what look do I love. Love something, make it work in your room. Having said that, I think your tile would work well with blues, tans or many of the greiges. Whatever you decide, you are likely going to need an accent color since your bedding has wonderful texture, but only one color. Again, look at the bathroom forums pictures and here in gallary under "bathrooms". Which rooms catch your breadth or you say to yourself, "I want that feeling". Good luck!...See MoreIf you have a blue bedroom, what color is attached bath painted?
Comments (14)Our DD's old room is a Laura Ashley light blue, can't remember the exact color. The duvet, window treatments, etc are black & cream. Getting ready to paint the adjoining bathroom a creamy color. I already have purchased black, white towels for the bathroom w/ light blue shower curtain....See MoreRelated Professionals
