LED undercounter lighting in today's wsj

Today's Wall St Jnl has an article on "the Eco-Kitchen Challenge." Raises many interesting questions (is renewable bamboo plywood shipped all the way from China really more eco-friendly than plywood made here from renewable trees?).

However, my specific question is about undercounter lighting (am cross posting this to the Lighting Forum). She used Borealis Lighting's Modular Lighting System. She quotes a price of $600, which seems incredibly cheap, considering it is a low voltage unit requiring a transformer.

I cannot find a price online to confirm her claim, but I did see a SINGLE R30 LED replacement bulb from the same company is running $113. Hard to believe you could get UC's for $600 given that, but has anyone used these, or found any LED UC system even remotely in the reasonable price range?

Here is a link that might be useful: Eco-Kitchen Challenge
