Anyone have the GE Single/Double Wall Oven? (Model PT925DNBB)
Comments (13)I bought this oven and it was installed about 3 weeks ago. It is so nice! I haven't used the bottom oven yet. The top oven heats up in about 6 min., much quicker than heating the full size of a single wall oven. I like that the doors aren't as tall as a full oven door so they don't stick out as much when open. Consumers report gave this oven the highest rating for capacity. The only drawback I have notices is that is unless the rack in the top oven is on the lowest position, you can't see into the pan to visually check the food. But I usually just go by the bake time and it's not really a problem. The oven had a better price on line and local appliance stores (here) don't match internet prices. But there was a weekend sale at local appliance store (but they wanted $85 to deliver). Another local appliance store matched the price and did free delivery. For $135 they delivered, installed and removed the old oven and packing materials. I'm really happy with this oven!...See More''Low pirce'' 36'' ranges--Anyone heard of Vintage?
Comments (8)At this point, I'd consider the RCS if I could find a source to take a look at them. I went out today on my day off and managed to get darn peeved at appliance sales people in general and a few very specifically. There are only two "high end" appliance stores in Memphis, and I visited both after a short trip to the dentist. It's my day off and I'm in jeans, t-shirt, no makeup, and a pony tail. Not covered in drywall dust and reeking of BO, you understand, although I've been there on an emergency visit to a hardware store. [grin] I'm a KD, and I've been in retail in one form or another since high school. I know better than to judge a potential customer on how they're dressed or what they look like. A few of these guys in their short sleeved dress shirts and polyester ties need to learn that lesson. (And there I go judging someone by what they're wearing and how they look! LOL!) "Oh we don't sell those brands," was probably the nicest comment I got when I asked about Capital or Bluestar, or Bertazzoni or pretty much anything other than Viking or Wolf. (Viking does maintain a cooking school next door to one of the appliance showrooms, so perhaps it's understandable snobbery on their part.) The worst comment I got was from some unremarkable little twerpy guy trying his best to basically usher me from visibiltiy in their showroom by explaining to me that "You won't find a 36" range in anything but a very high end brand and you'll spend 10K or more". I told him I'd done my research even if he hadn't, and that I wasn't interested in Viking or any of the "usual boring blah overdone and poorly rated brands." THAT managed to at least drop his hand from my elbow and shut his mouth. hehe I'm still doing my research, and I WILL eventually buy something. I'll probably spend more money than I want to, but it won't be locally....See MoreXpost: Has anyone seen the new F&P dbl ovens? Plus new DW coming
Comments (15)Nope, I have a model bought in the US...I think it's the OB20 model. We got it about 3 years ago when they went to the newer style, still in SS, but with softer, slightly rounded edging detail, instead of the sharp angles of the previous model. It has the cool blue interior like the expensive Wolf ovens (in fact, we paired it with a Wolf rangetop, and by getting the FP ovens instead of the Wolf ovens, we saved a bundle). And the iridium SS finish (basically a matte SS instead of brushed) is fantastic. Fingerprints and grease just wipe off, and I use a little bit of SS Magic to keep it clean....See Morefrustration with Miele Canada service, anyone else?
Comments (10)Sorry. Also venting. Long post warning... Add me to the list of extremely surprised and disappointed Miele customers. This is my first (and last) purchase from Miele. I purchased a dishwasher a month ago. The sales person entered online, and then at my insistance confirmed by phone with Miele, both the delivery and installation for a given date a couple of weeks out. The date was important because my current dishwasher didn't work and I was expecting a house full of company a few days after the delivery/installationdate. Instead, the day before it was scheduled to be delivered/installed, I got a call from the delivery company that they wouldn't be able to install it Thursday, it would have to be Friday. Fine, they turn up Friday but don't take the old dishwasher and don't install... what? The delivery guy acted like I was an idiot, "We dont install or take the old one away. You should have called a plumber"... Fine. Later that Friday, I get a call from the installer. He can't get to me for another week! I guess I lost it and he ended up agreeing to come after hours on Monday (I had houseguests due Tuesday) to hook it up. When he unpackaged the dishwasher, he just shook his head. They had sent me someone's uninstalled machine! It was dirty and had a rag stuck in the hose, the manuals were soaked, there was a scratch on the side... you get the picture. The installer was a good guy, not his fault, and he ended up installing the used machine to tide me over until my company left. I crossed my fingers it would work and not flood (who knew why it was returned). That was 2 weeks ago and I have not been able to reach them by phone. I know the same delivery company have scheduled delivery for this Friday (3 weeks after the original delivery date) but I can't reach anyone at Miele Canada by phone to confirm installation. I have another set of houseguests coming through on Sunday. I, too, had heard how reliable the product was. I wish I had known about the terrible customer service. If you use subcontractors for your delivery and service, you should be doing quality check as they represent your brand. And no excuse for not having a customer service number that people can actually get through on. I told my appliance store I would not be dealing with them (the appliance store) again since they are representing a brand with 0 customer service... If anyone has another phone number to try, let me know. I'm in BC....See MoreUser
