Thanks Karen. I have looked at that rooster a couple of times now but it is the "faux-wood" look of him more than the price which makes me undecided. But maybe you are right, the "poor guy" needs me to buy him and put him in a setting where he looks better! lol

Prosperity, have you got an "apple green & brown" living room - sounds lovely! Maybe you should switch furniture and call your living room your dining room for awhile. DH and I put a table in front of our fireplace last winter for a couple of months...was so cozy to eat there for a change.

Thanks Kathleen. I hadn't really thought about the look of this table being "atumnal" but since both you and my DM mentioned it, I guess it really is with the apples and the brown colours. It is sad to think Fall is not really that far away...although some of you are probably looking forward to the cooler temperatures. We are only just now getting hot weather so I would like it to go on for awhile yet!

You found some really pretty things DD. Love your brown chargers, and they sure go well with your glasses. Those candles are really pretty too. Isn't it fun to start pulling things together to get the "look" you want?

I'm seeing lots of Fall and Halloween in the stores already too--but like you, I'm not ready to have summer end yet. (In spite of the high electric bills because of needing the air conditioning.) We've been taking evening walks and enjoying the cool breeze and pretty sky. And I love the sound of the wind in the palm trees.

Also, I love the little birdie..and yes, 'Mr Rooster'..could probably use some TLC and if you brought him home, in the right setting...I'm sure you could do wonders with him too!! Luvs, you really summed up the "playing" part when you mentioned it being fun to start pulling things together to get the look you want. My family is used to it now but still can't believe the amount of time I'm willing to devote to it. Only the folks on this forum can relate...and I am so thankful I found you all!

My living room cupboards are "antique oak" - the sofa is bordeaux. The ceiling is also in wood.

I chose rustic furniture for this room because I live in the countryside, in a real small village house, but I will change the other rooms later.

For instance, my dining room walls and curtains are yellow and terracotta (my Mexico period, lol), the furniture is white and modern (my hospital period maybe).

As Kathleen wrote: your table setting is autumnal and I think these colors are warm :)

Very nice DD, and yes, definately go back for the Rooster, I have a very large one in the "wood tone" look, I think he is elegant (for a rooster anyway) LOL
