Thermostatic shower controls, rainfall shower heads
Comments (15)Hi, The valves and diverter under the "shower trim" between the rainshower and handheld shower fixture are complicated. You many want to consult with a plumber or the 800 number for the manufacturer of the fixture you are considering. I am in the process of trying to figure out Brizo on this same matter. But as to brands, Kohler and Delta are commonly recognized as very good US brands. I ended up replacing Moen fixtures in my former house , with which I had lots of issues, with Kohler. Never had any problems with Kohler, but it is expensive. We have moved and we have switched to Delta and its high end version, Brizo, both of which have very good reputations. But even with the better brands, you have to examine each collection---a lot are making "cheap" versions and higher end versions. Look at the weight, where screws are placed, how long the lever is, etc. Ordering for the second time the Hansgrohe 27474 w/ 10" round spray, It is expensive, but wonderful as to pressure, maintenance and effect. As to the shower spray, we loved the Flip, but will need a hose (metal 70 vs 72 ") a sliding bar and a connector to water. We are goiing use Kohler on this again. Good luck. Remember Chrome is timeless and cheaper, Check out Delta Asa(using Moen towel trims) and Virage ---really funking in chrome---schulptural with a twist. Check out Build.com for best prices. I deal with Liz Thomas who is great! Good luck! As to the rain shower, I am getting the Hansgrohe...See MoreTub faucet/Wall Handheld/Ceiling Rainfall Showerhead?
Comments (14)Your contractor bought the wrong thing. That is not how you design an installation with multiple outputs. You have a single valve that switches between the multiple uses. You also need to get the thermostatic valve, not pressure balancing. It is not going to have the capacity for a fast tub fill either because what you want is usually done in a shower only situation. Not a tub shower. Your professional supply house can help you sort this out. It is unprofessional, to say the least, to tell you to go buy things when you don't have a clue as to what is needed. But, he doesn't either. A rain shower in a tub is asking for trouble. Water damage and splashing everywhere. Which is why the proper waterproofing Sophie is asking about is so important. As well as the doors to contain the water. Tile and grout are not waterproof. Neither is cement board. You need a separate step. Your posts contain some red flag questionable descriptions of work that need to be resolved before you let your contractor touch anything else. You need to examine your contractor much closer....See MoreHighend Rainfall Shower
Comments (2)The best shower I ever had was from the Hansgrohe 27381001 Raindance E 360 AIR 1-Jet Showerhead. You can buy it individually or, as I experienced it at a citizenM hotel, as part of the Hansgrohe 27112001 Raindance Select Showerpipe (super design IMO). Hansgrohe sells wall and ceiling pipes for the showerhead if it's bought alone....See MoreWater pooling in new shower. Normal with Rainfall shower head?
Comments (6)Rainshower heads produce more water which leads to an increased need for the right size drain so it can drain efficiently. Also, you mentioned you just remodeled a bathroom, was a tub converted to a shower? If that was the case the shower requires 2" pipe in comparison to a tub which only needs 1 1/2". so the portion of the pipe must be changed to a 2" pipe....See Moresas95
