have older bissel steam mop, should i ?
Comments (1)I think you mean Shark instead of Sharp steam mop. Just go ahead and replace the filter and purchase more cloth mop heads and you should be fine. If you are satisfied with the Bissell, stick with it. It is cheaper to replace the parts than purchase another whole cleaner....See MoreSmell from my Bissell Steam Mop
Comments (15)It's December 3, 2021, I've used my Bissell steam mop 1867, for several years, just in the kitchen, and it just started to smell like sewer, when a goose neck has gone dry. I'm overdosing the house with Lysol, turned on the attic fan trying to suck out the stink. And it's darn cold outside. It's hard to get rid of the nastiness. I bought a new pad and filter, and I use clean water. Maybe I'll take it outside and run a lot of water through it to see if that works. I've invested a lot this week in pads and filter. People have been posting about this for years, and there is no solution....See MoreDoes anyone own the new Duet steam, aspen colour?
Comments (48)I don't think that the higher water levels on old FLs were the reason you didn't experience mold. If you leave the door open, ocasionally wipe the gasket down, use the right kinds and amounts of detergents you should not have any problems with mold no matter how low the water level is. Keep in mind that many complaints on this and other forums are due to misinformation of the users. Many people never read the manual, don't leave the door open and use way too much detergent. All of those things contribute to the problems with stinky washers. I have only had my new FL for three and a half months now, but I have used FLs for many years in Germany. They have the same low water levels and didn't develop any mold builup in the drum. Ocasionally, I had some smelly gunk (lint and hair) in the gasket, but just cleaning it with some dish soap took care of that. I have never used bleach and from my experience a FL does a much better job at getting rid of nasty smells than a TL. I find that true for both American and European FLs. I don't think you'll have to worry about mold since you already know how to use a FL....See MoreAnyone have these new steam cleans in washer
Comments (5)I've had my Samsung washer and dryer for 3 years now and have never used the steam feature on mine even once. If something needs to be sanitized, which is hardly ever, I'll just wash it in hot water. I use cold water to wash pretty much everything except my towels. There is a steam feature on my dryer, as well. I do use both the "Refresh" and "Wrinkle Care" occasionally. They're especially convenient to de-wrinkle my dinner napkins and sheets. I use the Refresh with a dryer sheet on the bedspreads, blankets and pillows in DD's room and our guest room when those items are clean, but may have taken on a bit of a musty smell due to the rooms not having been used in a while. Things that I don't like about this set: (1) My washer is my first front load washer and I hate it. I will never buy another one. (2) Both the washer and dryer play these annoying little tunes when they turn on and off. (3) The controls on both are on the front right of them, and are too easy to accidentally bump and turn on and off. (4) My washer is very prone to smelling moldy. The repair man that came out originally told me to just keep it's door open when not in use. Ah, no! with a small "hermit dog", who I know would try to climb into it, there is no way I'd take that chance with her!...See Moreflutterby64
