Vapor Barrier: Placement & Recommendation Questions

We are redoing our guest bathroom. The bathroom is "sorta" old in the sense they didnt use green board (just normal drywall). The tub is your standard (60x31x14), and the long edge (60") is along the exterior wall. Tile goes from the tube all the way to the ceiling. The ceiling itself is "normal" dryway.

We are gutting the entire bathroom, down to the studs and subfloor. We plan on using 5/8" plywood & Ditra on the floor, and using Redguard as the waterproof barrier on the Hardiboard around the tub.

My questions are:

1. Do I need to put a vapor barrier just along the exterior wall? Or should I put it on every wall of this bathroom? Do I need one for the ceiling?

2. What brand does everyone recommend to use? I heard some use aluminum, plastic, etc..don't know which to choose.

I hear that putting up a barrier can be a headache because if you damage it, the vapor barrier can actually make things worst (by trapping moisture on the "outside"). Any tips for installation?
