my Canna look horrible, please help
Comments (9)thanks, canna2grow for your input. I didn't even know that there were two leaf rollers. Perhaps mine have fallen victim to the large lr, as my foliage looks chewed up but never with black/burnt out foliage as shown in the above pics. Or perhaps the infestation was severe, compounded by the fact there was no foliage cleanup in prev. year. In any case, I now believe you have a pest problem not virus and pest problem is a much easier war to wage. Also, living in MS, you probably have a chance for a 2nd round of growth, so I would still recommend that you cut and remove foliage, use your product of choice per label instructions, and look forward to a pretty Fall show. Finally, you will have to keep a watchful eye on your cannas and the minute you see damage, go on the defensive. It is not a serious war, but definitely ongoing. Comments (11)I realized it was granite after I posted and held the notebook closer! lol Using hex tiles would be interesting too, but square would look fine also. Have you glanced through the FKB? Lots of ideas there. Oh..and my manners; I was so busy copy/pasting/looking at photos, I forgot to say your kitchen is beautiful. Comments (65)@Brenda Hagel do you mind me asking what the cost of your countertop was? My kitchen looks like a similar size (maybe a bit bigger), and I love the look of the Calacutta Marble but am worried it will be considerably more expensive than a regular Formica laminate. Does anyone know the difference in cost between regular laminate and the 180fx series? Is the 180fx still a high pressure laminate? Thanks for your help. P.S. I am in Canada, so please specify if talking about USD or CAD, thanks!...See MoreHelp, my marble tile floor doesn't match my marble slab countertops.
Comments (105)Renee you must be overwhelmed with all of these comments. Your countertops are GORGEOUS, so I do hope you keep them. Sophie's suggestion to stain the floors is well worth looking into. For what it is worth my suggestion for your backsplash is to go with a simple solid tile in a lighter color that coordinates with the countertop. I would suggest you not go too small with the tile- 3x6 to 4x12 would be a good size to stick with. You want to avoid too much movement in the backsplash as the counter (and the floor) have quite a bit of movement and you do not want them competing. Let the countertop be the star of the show. Good luck and let us know how it all ends up for you....See Moreruthie51
