No pictures, but they're sited so that the water from the shower doesn't reach them. If you have a tub/shower combo, place one so that someone sitting in the tub can reach the baskets, but not so low that it would be hard to clean the tub underneath the basket, and put a second one high so that someone using the shower can reach the basket without stooping.

I doubt people in 1910-20 washed their hair as often as we do. Forget about conditioner. My stylish, socially active mom had a weekly appt. at the hairdresser's and never washed her own hair. She'd even go in for a mid-week comb-out. I think those little wire baskets look nice if you need to retrofit the space. Nicer than bottles lining the ledge of the tub. For a new build, I don't understand not considering a niche, as long as you don't go overboard in number and size. The spray in my shower doesn't reach mine. It doesn't really get wet inside. Once a week I wipe the bottom in case there's a drip of shampoo I missed. My bathroom isn't particularly contemporary (it's a style I actually avoid) and my niche doesn't add to it.

Hi there...just wanted to share what we are planning for our bath, since we're planning a brown/ivory color for our shower and dry floors as well as the walls. You can see from the images we are using a pueblo basketweave similar to yours, with basic subway tile shown in the 2nd image. We're also doing some fancier borders at the top to give it some pizazz. We're going with the layout in 2nd image. Again, all colors will be light brown, although the basketweave on the floor will pick up some darker hues. This last image is an example of the wet floor we'd use but it may be too small to see. I don't think what you are proposing will get too busy. Hope this helps.
