I'm in the process of putting carpet tiles in my basement. First I used a shop vac to pull up most of the major dust, then I mopped the floor with fabuloso multipurpose cleaner mixed with water ( according to directions.) I used a regular old "janitor style" mop, let it dry, and mop it again. This should do it. This should work better than a swiffer. Just make sure after you mop a little bit, dip the mop back in the bucket to clean the mop and get fresh cleaner on it. This has worked great for me. Good luck!

Grout hasn’t changed much, and neither has grout care. There are three categories of grout: cementitious, epoxy, and furan. Most of us have cementitious grout (with or without latex). For that, clean tiles and grout with dilute detergent and water. Remember to seal your grout (once it’s dry) annually. Epoxy grout does not have to be sealed, but it can stain; if I’d does, you can brighten it with a dilute bleach or dilute vinegar. Furan is usually black and used in floors in industrial applications.

Some of the most gorgeous kitchen backsplashes I've seen are marbled ones and, unfortunately, it's true that this beauty comes with a price as marble is easily stained, dulled, and etched. However, you can prevent this if you learn how to properly take care of your marble backsplash. To protect it from scratches, don't use any sharp-edged objects against it. You said you're cooking Indian food. Curry powder and cumin, for example, often used in Indian cuisine, can leave stains on marble. And other strong pigments like coffee grounds and leafy greens can leave traces, so make sure to sweep them right away. Also, coffee, orange juice, and wine can easily stain marble. To prevent staining, wipe those spills as soon as possible because marble will definitely stain if those spills sit for a while untouched. The right way to clean your marble is to use some warm water, a gentle dish soap and a soft cotton cloth. Don't ever scrub marble backsplash - this would definitely scratch it. Make sure to wipe the marble backsplash dry. Otherwise, it may stain. To make it shine, use chamois cloth. If there is a stain already on your marble, make a paste of baking soda and water to a consistency of a paste. Leave it up to 24 hrs under a plastic wrap and remove it afterward. Just do some light cleaning frequently and your marble backsplash will beautiful for many, many years!

2 cups hot water + 1/4 cup OxyClean Powder. Soak grout with this solution for 30 minutes (keep wet) then use grout brush to clean. Amazing how well this works. I bought a "grout cleaning brush" and "long handle" from janitorial place that works great and easier on your back than crawling around on your knees.
