Help! My brand new Bluestar Range Top won't light
Comments (18)if your'e feeling adventurous, here's a step-by-step tutorial that another member posted in a different thread showing how to access the spark module: 1) Turn off power to the range. Breaker is easier than sliding and unplugging. 2) Remove knobs (rubber gloves or a jar opener help with gripping). Remove drip pan 3) Unscrew control panel- there are screws underneath plate holder and just above drip pan (easier to take out with oven door open). Remember that the self-drilling screws go back underneath the plate holder along the top edge of the control panel (I didn't at first). 4) Either let the panel hang down or rotate it up and over to rest on the plate holder (be careful of the oven thermostat capillary tube when doing this). 5) Unscrew the brackets that the module on the right is attached to the stove with. You do this with a screwdriver from inside the burner area. 6) Unscrew the module from the brackets. Leave the module wired up and just hanging there. Pull out the brackets. at least this way, you can see if the lead wire is connected to the spark module, and if it's not, you could easily reconnect it yourself....See MoreElectrolux range oven door won't open after self-clean
Comments (1)Nancy, how did this resolve itself?...See MoreNXR Range Oven Knob ring loose.
Comments (2)The short answer -- you just need to pull the oven knob and tighten the mounting screws on the "ring." (For future reference, that ring is often called a "bezel.") If that is not clear, the more detailed instructions are: Startby moving the bezel until properly positioned around the knob. If the bezel is so loose that won't stay where you position it, you can use some masking tape on the outer rim to hold it in place. Now, pull the oven knob off its shaft. (Grasp the sides and pull straight back --- it's designed for this.) You will see two Phillips-head mounting screws inside the raised rim of the bezel. (On my older NXR, they are located at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions.) Tighten the screws. Push the oven knob back into place on its shaft and remove the tape if you used any. Same set-up for the burner knobs' bezels, too, if they ever get loose....See MoreBluestar stovetop won't light while the oven is preheating
Comments (15)Sorry I just saw this thread, Elizabeth you are in good hands with opaone and M. I too think there is a very good chance your gas line is undersized for your range. The phenomenon you describe, including some burners lighting and others not when the large oven preheats is exactly how the 48” RNB will behave if you have too much pressure drop in the line. The large oven has a 30k btu rating it will use when preheating. If that is enough to create too large of a pressure drop, my guess is a significant upgrade to your gas line will be required. To get the full benefit out of your range and get the full btu’s you spent your hard earned money on, you will want to size a gas line for at least 100k btu’s. I sized mine for 150k btu’s because it didn’t cost me much more, and it is entirely possible to use that all at once for a brief period when you have two people cooking at once for some sort of holiday meal....See MoreNunyabiz1
