I said exactly that about the Verona, that it's not approved for undercounter use, only in a wall cabinet two feet or more above the floor. I saw one of those Stoves of America ovens years ago in a store - despite the brand name they were British IIRC. Only available for a few years in the US and they didn't seem to sell many.so they're probably hard to find secondhand (although someone has a supposedly unused one on eBay at the moment and one recently sold on craigslist, so they're a few out there). Model# was 850 GRF; they're 30"w. Apparently a high failure rate with the electronics.

When we did our kitchen 17 years ago, we went for a cooktop with the oven underneath. We are planning to update the kitchen and the appliances shortly and we will be doing the same configuration. I looked at the Electrolux choices and have decided to go with Kenmore Elite. The main reason is that the Kenmore Elite oven has racks that you can leave in during the self-cleaning cycle. Having dealt with racks that were left a mess when left in or the hassle to clean them by hand isn't something that I want to do anymore. Hope this helps.

We had an Advantium in our old kitchen. We are a family of four and I host many dinners for a large extended family. I love to cook and bake and spend many hours in the kitchen. I don't think I ever felt I needed another microwave in addition to the Advantium. I have the KitchenAid microwave/convection combination oven in our new kitchen, and I like it much better than the Advantium. If you are going to use it for baking, I highly recommend the microwave/convection combo. If you are going with an induction cooktop and a separate oven under the cooktop, one thing to consider is the venting on the oven. Wall ovens vent to the front, which means if you're standing at the cooktop and have the oven on you'll have the hot air blowing on you. If you're using a range, that will vent to the top. I have a cooktop and wall oven (with the micro/convection above that) and find it much more convenient that my old setup with a range.

lambic, 20 some years ago when I moved into my current home I was distressed to realize that all of my countertops were 38" high. I'm 5'5" and the prior owners were both over 6' tall and had the cabinets custom made to accommodate their height. The range and dishwasher were both on platforms to also raise them to 38" and put them at the same level as the rest of the countertops. Over the years I have become accustomed to this height and most of my prep work has actually been done at 40" because I have a 2" high hugh cutting board sitting on the 38" countertop. Finally, I am getting my new kitchen and I'm going to do the countertops all at 38". The wall oven will be under the cooktop but with the 38" countertop height it won't seem to be sitting on the floor. This works for me (and everyone in my family is taller so they don't want lower counters)but you may want to think about your height in relation to the height of the countertops but it sound like you have this well thought out.
