Blonde moment: ? about single hole faucet
Comments (2)Most bathroom vanity basins/sinks are pre-drilled for 4" faucet sets. My guess is that the "optional" 6" deck is to cover these in which case it will fit your existing basin thus permitting the single hole faucet intallation. The instructions or packaging will confirm or advise if you must order one as a separate part....See MoreThree holes for single-hole faucet! Options?
Comments (5)As others mentioned, I would either have them replace the piece or find a new faucet (at their cost maybe?). Since it is not a natural material, you won't be losing anything with a new piece. I would not be willing to live with something that looks like a retrofit just for a discount....See More8'' Widespread faucet holes, but 1-hole faucet w/soap dispensers?
Comments (9)Old post but I have a similar issue. We bought a house with a bridge faucet (so just two holes in the marble top.) The faucet is now leaking and can't be fixed. To replace it, bridge faucets START at $350 and go up from there to the $1000 price range. We also have another sink on the other side of the bathroom, so if you replace one that will be roughly $400-$700, we probably should replace the other. The second option is to drill a third hole, for a standard wide spread set up. But for a third and budget option, I was looking at some single hole faucets, and putting a soap dispenser on the second hole. I am assuming you would put the water faucet on the left hole, and soap on the right (that is what comes to mind for a right handed person) but I am not sure. This is a home we will move from in about 3 years give or take. Trying to think budget, aesthetics, and function. And would a home buyer think "what the heck?" or say "awesome." You cannot see the other vanity area as the shower and toilet area are in the middle of the bathroom, so I am thinking I can have one faucet on one, and another set up on the other, as long as they are in the same bronze family and similar style (these have an old vintage look to them.) Thoughts?...See MoreIs that odd: using single hole faucet with 3-hole vanity top?
Comments (17)I think you have gotten some good suggestions, and if you will actually use the lotion and soap in the dispensers that is a fine solution. (although if this is for a guest bath or powder, will guests know which is soap if you go that route?) I just worry that you like the single hole faucet because you like that uncluttered look and adding extra things in will make it look just as cluttered as two handles would and you won't be happy with the outcome. If that is the case, white plug covers to match the sink would look best, imho. Or ppbenn's suggestion as a nice compromise. You can take all this with a grain of salt, as personally I am a fan of the widespreads, and I would probably get the widespread to fit the 3-hole. ;-)...See MoreRelated Professionals
