8'' Widespread faucet holes, but 1-hole faucet w/soap dispensers?
Comments (9)Old post but I have a similar issue. We bought a house with a bridge faucet (so just two holes in the marble top.) The faucet is now leaking and can't be fixed. To replace it, bridge faucets START at $350 and go up from there to the $1000 price range. We also have another sink on the other side of the bathroom, so if you replace one that will be roughly $400-$700, we probably should replace the other. The second option is to drill a third hole, for a standard wide spread set up. But for a third and budget option, I was looking at some single hole faucets, and putting a soap dispenser on the second hole. I am assuming you would put the water faucet on the left hole, and soap on the right (that is what comes to mind for a right handed person) but I am not sure. This is a home we will move from in about 3 years give or take. Trying to think budget, aesthetics, and function. And would a home buyer think "what the heck?" or say "awesome." You cannot see the other vanity area as the shower and toilet area are in the middle of the bathroom, so I am thinking I can have one faucet on one, and another set up on the other, as long as they are in the same bronze family and similar style (these have an old vintage look to them.) Comments (10)Good eye MizLizzie! It is the Delta Victoran 754LF in antique pewter. I could have gotten a really good closeout deal at a local store on the 755LF version (with closed top & aerator), but I liked the idea of no aerator and the open top style fit with the look we were going for in that bath--like you were washing your hands in a stream with an old faucet. We are very pleased with how it turned out. One other thing to remember when doing a vessel sink is that you want to standard height (30") vanity so that your total set up (vanity + countertop + sink) = ~36". If you go with the more modern comfort height (36") vanity, the sink will sit too high (~42") making it uncomfortable to wash your hands in. Good luck to you & can't wait to see pics of your project!...See MoreSingle hole/lever faucet with exposed plumbing
Comments (3)Thanks for quick response! I was talking to someone at one of the faucet companies and they said because both the hot and cold go through the single hole tight together vs. separately straight down, something like this won't work: supply lines...See MoreDelta Faucet - No Gasket for Single Hole Install?
Comments (0)Just moved to a new house, replaced the old Moen faucet in the kitchen which was clearly never installed properly in the first place. I grabbed a Delta Owendale single-handle faucet from the Depot and went to install (I'm no expert but have done a few faucets in my time). For context, it's a double offset sink with two holes in the granite countertop, but due to the offset it won't work with the included escutcheon. I went for the single-handle installation and was confused that it didn't have any sort of gasket or other seal solution. The kit came with a "thin deck aid" which requires a three-hole configuration and did have some little gasket piece, but that piece didn't fit in the faucet when not using the deck aid. The Delta instructions are somewhat generic and from what I can tell don't really call for any gasket for single-hole install, using terms like "if your faucet has a trim ring" (unless I'm reading it wrong, which I could be). So I just did the install and tried it out - and of course it does leak when it gets splashed. I have called and emailed Delta multiple times but can't seem to reach anyone or get a reply. There was nothing in the box which would have worked as a gasket so maybe they just forgot to include it. In any case, I'm wondering where to go from here. Is there a generic gasket that I can use, or must I continue trying to reach Delta to get whatever part may have been missing from my box? Or should I just use some silicon sealant around the base and call it a day? Forgot to mention, there was also a soap dispenser which I installed in the hole that used to hold the Moen handle, just next to the faucet. It does have a foam gasket built in, but it also leaks. So I am thinking maybe a sealant would be the way to go regardless - if so I need recommendations for what product and how to apply it, as I've never done that before. Thanks in advance!...See Morevalleykat
