Mothers Day tablescape

I set this table for Mothers Day.
I used my MSE stoneware, a very heavy silverplate candelabra, and a ceramic tea set from Ross.

I hope everyone has a Happy Mothers Day!

Unfortunately, we are expecting several inches of snow!!!!
Good thing I haven't planted my flowers yet, LOL

So pretty...Love the floral pattern of your plates and the soft green
tablecloth and the dusty pink napkins. The silver tea set and candelabra are beautiful and really add elegance to this setting.
I hope you enjoy aBeautiful Mother's Day and hope the snow is a 'no show' !

Candy, this lovely table makes me smile.
The green tablecloth and pretty pink napkins with the butterfly napkin rings are wonderful with your pretty dishes.
The candelabra and silver tea set are perfect for Mother's Day.
Once again your Candy shot is the best !
Sorry you are expecting snow. I hope it doesn't spoil any plans.

Luckygal, where in the world are you? Somewhere near a beach obviously--but which one. Sorry no good luck on the TS shopping, do keep trying! Jeanne, I have two baker's racks outside, one is a corner unit--but neither look nearly as cute as yours with your collections and vignettes. I need to work on mine I think. That is so neat that you do the Farmer's market too. Candy, I'm another one who does tablescapes for my "imaginary" friends. DH will only eat at the table when we have company--rest of the time he prefers to eat in front of the tv. Karen, I didn't do a table, but I did glue a little cheese tray and glass dome on a pedestal and decorate it--can I get any points for that? ;o) Kathleen, the rooster napkins like in your photo that you shared with me are some of my favs. We don't do sit down breakfast often, but I like to just sit the table and display them on the plates because they look so cute.

Thank you everyone for the compliments and sweet comments. I forgot to say the silverware is SS that I got by saving box top coupons from name brand grocery store items many years ago. I got my whole family involved and eventually collected a service for 16. The crystal came from TJM probably 20 years ago. OA, the little floral cubes are just paper-like rosebuds glued to the top of a piece of styrofoam and then the leaves are layered around the sides. They were a TS find a couple of years ago. I can't take credit for the doilies on the lifts, I saw it somewhere, just don't remember where. Bonnie, we had to postpone the tea party as 1 DD had to work, so will have it at a later time. Right now the sunroom is holding all the flowers I bought to plant and had to hold off because we had at least 3" of snow last night with more expected tonight. I love CO most of the time, but spring is very fickle around here. Really getting anxious for some warm weather to come to stay!! TTFN, Candy

Sunny, One of the things that my husband agreed to early on in our marriage, is that if one of our kids wants/needs the step parent to do things for them (because the parent can't), then the child has to ask the step parent, not the parent. When my son wanted a co-signer on a car, I couldn't help him because I had just started my own business. I talked to my husband and he agreed to help but I felt that my son should ask him, not me. My son did ask him and got the car with my husband's help. My husband does the same with his daughter. If she wants something from me, she has to ask me. She still asks him all the time and he tells her, 'you have to ask SM'. My sons got angry a while back because they don't like when my husband has an opinion about anything. They think he should stay out of 'our life' but then I remind him that he's my husband and he is a part of 'our life' and I remind him of the things my husband contributes and that they don't mind when he does something where they benefit. They don't like it but they know it's true. What your husband should have told his daughter is that she would need to ask you to cook the food because he doesn't know how or can't do it all by himself. It really is up to the parent to expect their children (even adult ones) to respect their spouse enough to ask for themselves instead of going through the parent. It's much easier for kids to let themselves believe that their parent is doing everything for them and they don't need the step parent if all they have to do is ask the parent who then asks the step parent. Then they don't really appreciate the step parent because they can tell themself that their parent is the one doing everything for them. It's funny that my son will ask me for something and when I say, you need to ask stepdad yourself... he'll decide 'I don't really need it.' He has been giving my husband a hard time and would rather go without than ask my husband, well, that's HIS problem, not mine.

I was walking my dog yesterday. Typically in Florida, people wait until the sun gets low because its so hot and the sun blinding. While walking, I pass neighbors and we always chat briefly from a distance. I tell people my dog is not the friendliest and people respect that (not true). Yesterday a neighbor was walking on the opposite side of the street and we chatted briefly while walking. We were talking about how we were dealing with the virus and being isolated and how tired we were of the whole thing. Just chit-chat. Then she says, I think the whole thing is overblown and you'll never see me wearing a mask, gloves and all the crap. As I kept walking, I said, 'well, I certainly don't want to get it as I'm not a spring chicken.' She said, 'its all overblown and I wouldn't worry about it at all.' I'm 71 and my guess is she's about the same. We passed her house and I kept walking thinking, what makes her think it's all overblown? I have no idea but at my age, even if I survived, who wants to take the chance? Who wants to be sick for weeks? Not me, not worth it. I don't like being isolated, I don't like the restrictions its put on my life, but l also don't like the idea of catching this virus and its implications. Just not worth it. Jane

I was hoping to add some lilacs to the setting, but they were just starting to open. It has been rain and snow all day, so I doubt they will amount to much this year, :(

It was supposed to be a free golf day for Mothers at the course today, but obviously, there was no golf!!!!

I have had a very nice day, but not quite what I had planned.

Oh well, curled up by the fire, and as Annie says "the sun will come out tomorrow." Although my senior league golf tournament for tomorrow is also cancelled.

Spring around here is a very schizophrenic season, LOL

Gorgeous Mothers Day Table, Candy! Love the dinnerware, flatware and
silver pieces. Your napkins with the butterflies and little tea pot with flowers
are so pretty.

Nice to hear you curled up by the fire! We got several inches of snow too.
Kids were down and brought me some nice gifts and flowers. One gift was
a french manicure for my toes. Might have to wait a couple weeks.LOL

Snow on Mother Day! Can't even imagine!! LOL We don't even get it for Christmas!

Wow, candy .. . a gorgeous table ... pink & pretty & so pleasant. Love your pinks with the white wicker furniture ... always so very feminine. Love the napkin folds with the butterfly rings ... looks like they are soaring!

Beautiful dishes, too! Reminds me a bit of lilacs ... the colors ... yes, they are starting to bloom here, too. NOw I hope your snow is melting ~~ we're in for some cooler nights ahead this week, too ... I have planted some flowers & veggies ...so hoping no frost.

Beautiful table, Candy. Very elegant, would make me think white gloves and a hat should be worn! :o)
The green in that tablecloth is one of my favorite colors, I love soft sage green. And the 'dusty rose/pink' is also
a color I like a lot.

Snow? You needed to be in Sedona, and playing golf! I was thrilled our Mother's Day weather was windy and 86, cause it was too hot before the weekend and definitely too hot now at 103.
