Tec Grout? Anyone familiar with colors? Bill V?
Comments (10)My 1 inch honed marble hex is going in today! I got it online at Builders Direct Depot for $10.95sf and have to say it is excellent quality. I saw it on Wild Ink blog and dreamed about it for a while!! Obviously we have not done the grout yet, I have narrowed it down toTec Deloreon Gray or Mist. I was worried the DG would be too dark. The mist is a tad lighter. My tile guy is going to do a sample of each so I can see. This bath will be used by the whole family so I want the grout to hide things! For the Subways I am going to go with Silverado, a very light gray. Do you think Deloreon Gray will be too dark? The pictures make the hex seem busier than it is. I am putting in a gray vanity painted amazing gray by sherwin williams. Thanks for the input! Grout is a tough decision! Comments (25)kats737 - we used the same color Tec Power Grout (professionally installed) in our shower and in our mosaic tile floor. We are having the same issue you mentioned above (being able to scrape the grout out of joint line with a fingernail when wet). In the shower, it's actually just dissolving when wet and we've decided it has to be replaced. But it would be a HUGE pain to remove it from the mosaic tile floor. The floor grout seems a little harder, but I can still scratch it out with a fingernail when it gets wet a month after install. Did yours actually harden over time? How long did it take? Thanks....See MoreTec Power Grout users: Can you recommend a cool or neutral gray?
Comments (0)I have a gray-blue ceramic tile, definitely cool colors. Light to mid gray. The blue came about because I wanted cool gray with no brown in it, and most gray tiles include brown or have brown undertones (warm). The blue definitely comes through in sunlight, not so much otherwise. Walls are a slightly cool white. I understand it's best to stick with warm or cool colors, not mix them, and surely a warm gray would stand out. My contractor wants to use Tec Power Grout (tho opinions on Houzz seem mixed). The gray samples I saw in Power Grout all looked like warm grays. It's possible that the dealer may not have had samples of some newer grays - ? Would those who have used a gray from this line please comment? Maybe some are at least more neutral?...See MoreHelp, TEC Power Grout
