The wood is Maple, even if you know the exact style, name etc... of the cabinets there's not a chance in hell that one single door is going arrive and match your existing cabints. Kitchen cabinet companies are notorious for having a disclaimer stating they can not guarantee that even the whole set will match much less a single door or two after the fact. Gee I wish I could get away with crap like that in my shop. My suggestion is to take a door with you to a local kichen cabinet shop , get an unfinished door and have a furniture refinisher match the color to one of your existing doors. My guess would be that they called this color , mocha or maybe nutmeg, but I wouldn't bet on it .

Probably because you don't NEED a mudset job on a Kerdi Shower. If the framing and walls are true, why the mudset? Make no mistake, I have done tons of them and they certainly are great. Straight, plum and true. As to being "overpriced," yes, there is a proprietary drain assembly....which looks MILES better than the average PVC/FHA $9.00 drain and will cosdt you a hunnerd bucks or so. (big whoop!) When I factor in the time differential of mudding walls, putting in a preslope, setting and folding a rubber liner, metal cladding the curb for fat mud, putting in a final slope....all before you tile, as opposed to simply ONE mudbed, Kerdi the walls and floor and tile away...in many cases, I'm less expensive than the "Traditional" way...simply because of time. Warranty? Don't care about the Company. I warranty my stuff for life...and have yet to have a callback. What is "Life?" Until either you die of I die.....lol

I gotta say, I love your spunk and your openness to showing off your work even though it didn't turn out quite how you wanted. The encouraging thing (I hope!!) is that the choices you made seem to go together very nicely. Can you post pictures from further back so we can see how this spot relates to the area as a whole? I'm not a pro and I for one can't quite figure out why the backsplash/tile accent isn't above the counter. A wider perspective would maybe help. Thank you :)

Yes, sorry, I meant to put into the post that the contractors we're using have already remodeled our basement bathroom, and passed code inspection with flying colors. They have also contributed substantially to design decisions on that project which was fitting a 3 piece bath into a 2-piece space. And it works marvelously. I was home during that entire process, my husband and I inspecting every step. Our new tub is on order. We're gutting this thing, but maintaining the same footprint. I currently don't have a photo of the granite slab, but will try to obtain one. I was so excited by it's beauty, I actually forgot to take the photo! The countertop, vanity, and recessed medicine cabinets will be the focal point, if a bathroom this size can have one. But, as Christina says on "Flip or Flop", when you only have one bathroom in a house, it has to be spectacular (max function/max AHHHH factor). Thanks all!!
