How I survived cooking Easter dinner when my oven died

It was, in retrospect, kind of funny: Everything is in the oven, timers are set, things are on schedule......until, the first timer went off and the scalloped potatoes weren't ready to be uncovered because they were still cold. Oh no! Hubster comes over and says I probably "did something" to the oven jets (gas) after running the self-clean mode on Friday and wiping out the ashes on Saturday. He proceeds to make sure the jets are clean (they are). To make a long story short, the oven is dead as a door nail!

Luckily, we had a Honey Baked Ham, which was fully cooked. We were able to do all the sides either on top of the gas stove (yup, that still works!) or in the microwave. We sent oldest DD home with the marinated peppercorn bonesless leg of lamb to cook at her house. That was the only part of the meal we were unable to cook.

Anyway, good thing it was a small gathering of only 6 this year! We all had a few chuckles as we made do with heating things up.

We had a wonderful day. Hope you enjoyed spending time with family/friends!
