Hopefully this works. I have two baths we just finished. The master is Daltile Brancacci with the resin chair rail and floral listello Fastfloors.com had this for 1/2 the price as special order from home depot. You have to call them though after you get your order set up to fix any shipping issues (they do each type of tile as a seperate order so shipping looks much worse than it really is until you call them). The other is our kids bath with 4 1/4" plain white tile and 2" cobalt blue glass from mirage tile. Note that the glass tile is thicker so you will have to put down more thinset behind the remaining tile and the grout joints around the glass will be larger due to difference in tile sizes. Weedyacres...here you go. I wish that I put a cupboard below, but originally the toilet was going in that nook and it wouldn't have worked. The other bookcase is on the other side in our bedroom. This was empty space because we pushed the tub up to give the toilet more room. I hate dead space, so I put the shelves in. It ended up that there still wasn't enough room for the toilet...bad measuring on the part of the plans. This room was done in two parts, so it was hard to get a good feel for the space until all the plumbing had been roughed in and walls of the old space were taken down. I guess this is more than you need to know. I haven't figured out what will go in the shelves yet.

It's especially helpful because I wear Mac makeup too so it's like looking into my own drawer! raehelen, I spent about an hour on the drawer dividers last night and thought about that spice angle drawer insert too, but this drawer is too shallow for even that! A bottle on that would hit the top, I think. Although, it would be great for my little "pots" of eyeshadow. :) It's a funny story about our vanity, actually. When it arrived, I was furious bc the kitchen planner who ordered all the bathrooms too had said that four drawers on a side were standard. That meant we had THREE useless drawers and one deep one on the bottom!!! I went nuts and insisted that they do something about it and never recommend that set up again. They acquiesced and changed out the two middle drawers to another deep drawer, which is sort of better but still not ideal. What people should have is a slightly deeper top drawer, a middle height middle and then deep lower. We still have the four in the middle section, between me and my hubby's sinks, and it's only 9" wide inside and 2" deep. Totally useless. I have two or three washcloths in it. Can't even fit a hand towel! I'm thinking first order of business then is to go through all my toiletries and purge and organize to see the shapes and sizes I need? Then measure and fit like a puzzle? I do like those Madesmart containers - wonder of they are short enough? PS One thing I did that isn't quite traditional - I put a tilt out tray and both sinks - we each keep our own toothbrush and toothpaste in there. I thought it was quite clever! ;-) Here is a pic - not a great one (and before glass pulls and knobs,) but you can see drawers. You'll probably say that I have a lot of storage but the top cabinet has become home to all my face products, hair, lotions, etc. it's too awkward for makeup - I'd like to see if all.

It sounds like you are in a terrible situation. If the 17 and 19 year olds are behaving so badly, is the 14 year old soon to follow? And does your husband really think he is helping his kids by letting them get away with bad behavior? It has been a foundational belief of mine that to have real love you have to have respect. Your husband's kids don't respect him if they treat both of you the way you describe. Kids like to push their parents buttons and see what happens. They are obviously very unhappy or else they wouldn't act the way they do. Encourage your husband to try and view his kids as an outsider would. Then ask him what he sees. Maybe by doing this he can see that he isn't helping them by the way he handles the situation. Even if the kids break off some contact with him, he would be showing them that he doesn't accept the bad behavior, and he needs to gain their respect to have any influence over them in the future. Ask him if he would respect someone who he could walk all over and get away with it. I sure wouldn't! It sounds like you have invested substantial time and emotion into your relationship, and if you can stand it for a few more years, it would be worth it to try. Your husband has probably already lost the two middle kids if he keeps letting them get away with bad behavior. I think it is worth the risk for him to tell his kids to act right or he's not going to be around them. I would guess that their mom wouldn't want them around her all the time with their attitudes either, and they might get the message. You might also remind your husband that he has a 14 year old who is watching how everyone is acting and reacting, and that he has a chance to save his youngest from going down the wrong path like the 17 and 19 year olds.
