Why do you love my hubby (wife) or SO so much?
Comments (25)I'm in my mid-40's and only married 3 years. I met DH when I was 40. I like to tell him that if I had to wait this long for him, he was worth it! 1.We match up very well personality wise (though he is introverted and I am extroverted--like islandgal said we balance each other out). 2. We have similar modest family backgrounds, and we both put ourselves through graduate/professional school, so when we met it was almost like we'd known each other. 3. We have similar interests in music and love to go to live music events together. 4. LOL, he was right when he said white for the paneling in the kitchen without realizing there are literally 100 shades of white. He also insisted on granite slab for the countertops. 5. He's not handy, but he at least knows that. We are happy to call professionals for things beyond our capabilities, which is pretty much anything beyond painting. He never had pets and took on me with three cats after we got married. He was at my side when we had to put one down a couple of weeks ago due to kidney failure. He truly loves me for who I am. He likes a woman with curves. Enough said....See MoreWhy Do People Enjoy Beanbag Chairs So Much?
Comments (17)One of my early apartments was extremely small, but I liked to have friends over and there was insufficient space to seat them all. Floor pillows weren't enough for the hardwood floors, so I bought a bunch of beanbag chairs because they were squishy enough to stuff under the bed, behind the couch, etc. I could fit something like four under my twin bed, three behind the couch (the only two pieces of actual furniture in my apartment, but if you wanted milk crates I was your gal!). When I had a party the floor would be a sea of multicolored beanbags, and since I was the only one in the crowd who lived alone most of the parties happened at my place. People would just fall asleep in them when they got tired, and then the party would sort of re-start in the morning with someone getting up and making pancakes and mimosas. LOL I had to sit on a HUGE beanbag chair at a party recently because that was the only way to get a semi-reclining position - obviously the host did not have a reclining chair. I had to roll out of it sideways onto my hands and knees, and lever myself up with my cane, which I've gotten pretty good at since I'm falling more often again. To be honest I was laughing the whole time, and I WAS totally sober (probably the only person there who was... the homebrewers' efforts were apparently very good this year, as was someone's *polite cough* smokeables crop). I just turned 39 - and usually feel 93 - and contentedly flopped out in that crunchy ball of a chair I felt about 23 again. Now inflatable furniture, OTOH, don't get me started. IMO it belongs in the pool and that's IT!...See MoreWhat Do You Have Too Much Of, & Why Do You Have It?
Comments (89)So many people with issues with parents...sad. I was loved, I had toys and gifts, dresses, dolls, books, sport stuff, games,I lacked for nothing . But as I got older, I think I tried to "recapture" my childhood. As an adult, I loved antique shows, flea markets, garage sales. Any time I saw something we had in our house growing up, I had to buy it. I even bought too many rose bushes and planted them in my garden, trying to re-create my Grandma's rose garden. I now have a linen closet stacked with doilies and tablecloths I'll never use, sets of fancy glasses too fragile to use, things like that. Oh, and on the funny side, my daughter cleaned out my bathroom just yesterday. She found eleven bottles of Listerine. I don't know, I hate the stuff, it burns... I remember buying one bottle because it did everything, whitens teeth, freshens breath, makes gums healthy, strengthens the enamel. I'm just always looking for something to make me happy....See MoreI don't know why I'm in so much pain.
Comments (51)I'm thinking RA is more likely, though. I woke up with pain in my wrists this morning, and I learned that the weird taste I've had in my mouth on and off for weeks could be an RA symptom, too I never had any taste symptoms, only bouts of extreme pain and stiffness, accompanied by severe swelling. The swelling comes from the immune system attacking the joint. Never chills with a flare. RA flares are so painful, it overwhelms. My first flares were in the shoulder....family Dr said it was probably Bursitis. This went on for years. When I finally got a DR to order a test for RF, it came back at 2300. Any idiot can diagnose that one, and I finally got treatment. I had a bad flare while out of town...wrist swelled up so bad, ER first thought it was broken. In fact, had a flare a couple of months ago, and even though I said it was a flare...insisted on an Xray. Only thing that can calm a bad flare for me is a shot of Demerol, and these days they are years apart. Now, with RA, morning joint stiffness is normal. When I get up in the morning, I have to pull myself on my feet by holding onto bureau, and the first few steps are excruciating. And my RA is under control :)...See Moresimply_shelia
