Planing lighting for open concept

How should we plan for adequate reading light for our new home? With an open concept, the living room will have only 3 walls, and either the reclining love seat or the reclining chari will be on the no-wall side. (Couch will be against the wall because we use it less and won't need to recline.) I spend time reading and doing crossword puzzles while my husband watches TV in the same room. This will be our "growing old" home--planned on one floor--so living/family area are in the same room and the house is probably about 1800 square feet. With no wall for electrical outlet near our chairs, how do I best plan for adequate reading light? I want flexibility in moving the furniture, as I'm not good at picturing exactly where furniture will go or stay. I've thought of the built-in ceiling "cans," electrical outlet in the floor/carpet, and sliding track lighting. What have you found helpful? Thanks for your help.
