KA built-in oven not working after self-cleaning
Comments (4)Jerrod, I agree. I thought I'd report that KA is going to give me a one time out of warranty repair at no charge. I'm in the part of the warranty period where only parts are covered, and I had to push to get my labor covered too, but not too hard after I mentioned that I had searched the internet and learned that this was a long standing problem with KA ovens. What KA is offering is better than nothing, but I won't use my self-cleaning function again because I'll be afraid that this will happen again, which is not acceptable. Up until last Saturday I had been really, really happy with my KA convection oven, but now I am very disappointed with it....See MoreFisher & Paykel oven door won't open
Comments (6)I guess to be fair, I have to admit that this is my second F&P oven. The first one (an OS301) didn't hold temperature consistently and was replaced under warranty shortly after purchase, which is when I got this 302. I assume the oven was installed correctly, as I believe it was this same service company that did it. The tech tried to call the F&P tech line, but couldn't get through, and so he left without trying much else. I'm assuming that they'll be able to get through and then come fix the oven, but it's all very open ended with this repair company. Keep in mind that I'm in a part of the country where most people have never heard of F&P, so I'm not surprised that service is a bit of a challenge. The F&P lady I talked to at their customer service was very friendly and polite. It's just that her help boiled down to call a tech. I assume that I was told this because solving the problem will require parts (i.e. failed thermal fuse like you said), and there wouldn't be anything for me to do on my own. I'm not ready to write off F&P because of this incident, so I hope you won't either. When it works (which is all the time except for this), it's a great oven. Comments (5)Well, you are not alone with this problem. From the Sub Zero Wolf Website Cause: Thermal cut out (TCO) detect as open TCO not working properly Answer: No troubleshooting advice is available. Contact Factory Certified Service to schedule an appointment for repair. From the "Just Answer Website What thats saying is on your power relay is a series of relays that are controlled by a micro processor which gets it's readings from the display and the temperature cut out. The DLB1 is a relay on the power relay board which controls the bake element I believe and it appears to the processor to be open or faulty. The TCO is a manual reset thermostat which controls 120V of the 240V the oven uses to operate. If the TCO fails the oven will not heat properly and cause it to fault due to insufficient heat rise times. In these cases I find the DBL1 relay on the power relay is bad and I generally have to replace the relay board. In this case there isn't much a consumer could do to repair this, You would need a factory authorized service technician to come out and repair it. The TCO and DBL1 faults are to difficult to repair and require physical diagnostics to identify the failed part. There is also request on the Fixya website for help with the same problem but you have to become a member of Fixya to see the answer. Sorry I do not have better news for you. Comments (0)I've had two Wolf E series for nearly 2 years (single ovens). One oven had an error (TCO detect as open) on the first two attempts at self clean (self clean stopped at about 2 hours into the cycle). Authorized factory service replaced the fan and an electronic part, now I get UIM ambient overtemp error. Just tried to run a self clean cycle on the other oven (2 prior successful attempts at self clean), got TCO detect as open and self clean stopped at less than 2 hours into cycle. Has anyone else had these errors, and what can be done to fix it? I have service coming out in 2 days. Other than these problems, these ovens cook better than any other ovens I've ever had. This problem is double posted in the Appliances Forum....See Moregayl
