I like the WetJet on my bathroom tile. But I use different cleaner. Used to refill the bottles but now I just have a squirt bottle of cleaner. The pads are great IMO.

You would have to sit down and figure out the overall difference in cost, buying something once or buying refills, but I have the Bissell Flip It Hard Floor Cleaner with Heat. It sells for $99.99 at Linens & Things but you'll save a few dollars if you have a 20% off coupon. You can check it out on their website. You can use the hard floor cleaner they suggest. I personally just use vinegar and water. I've never used the WetJet so I can't compare the two but I really like the Bissell.

Read some of the posts on this forum on steam mops. You might not want to use steam on your hardwood floors, but for ceramic tile, it is great.

I have Marmoleum (linoleum over cork) tile in my kitchen. We had this flooring installed 2 years ago. I use the Swiffer WetJet to clean this floor, and it still looks like new. It takes just a couple of minutes to sweep, then I mop with the antibacterial cleaner. It has such a nice smell! Yes,it is expensive, but it keeps my floor looking brand-new!

I have a swiffer carpet flick, and don't like the price of refills. I took out the cardboard refill, traced the shape on cereal box cardboard, and put two strips of carpet tape (sticky both sides) on each side, like the sticky strips on the original. Works great! Cost next to nothing! Now, can anybody figure out how to open the wetjet bottle so I can just use vinegar & water in there?

I like the Wet Jet for quick cleanups when I don't have the time, the dog comes in wtih dirty paws etc. It does work well. Other times I use a Vileda flat mop and their bucket.
I found with the Wet Jet if you don't remove the bottle from the mop each time it must slowly drain out and go empty.

I use the steam mop on my hardwood floors and they turn out great! It beats a regular mop or the old fashioned hands and knee mopping! Plus with the steamer you don't use any type of cleaner, hence, no chemicals and it saves $$.

I like the Swiffer, but it does get expensive. We also have a large kitchen, so if the floor really needs mopped, I have to use 2 or 3 pads to keep from just spreading dirt & grime around. I just try to keep my eye out for any kind of coupons I can find, that helps a little. I have recently just been using it for quick cleanups also, like Pkguy mentioned, and using a traditional mop for when it needs a thorough cleaning.

I also love the smell of the solution. :)

I suggest the steam mop for floors. No cleaning supplies, wash the pad and use it again, saves money and the floors look great.

Refilling the bottles is actually quite easy. But can be made very complicated if desired! LOL

The top actually unscrews. The trick is that they have little raised things on there so it appears it doesn't. What I did was to take a small sidecutters and cut up the side of the cap a bit between the notches and bend them out a bit, unscrew the cap and then cut off the bottom ring. You could use a sharp utility knife if you're careful. Some just take a "channellock" type pliers or a strap wrench, get a grip and unscrew it. I was hesitant to do that in case I damaged the cap or bottle. So I took the time to clip it.

Some just cut a hole in the bottom of the bottle, fill it with a funnel and plug it with a cork. There's also places that sell little cap things to modify a bottle but once you unscrew the top and remove the little notches, you're fine.

Do I need to give a disclaimer? Be careful that you don't cut yourself! That's why a small sidecutter is preferred, but a razor blade will work. The trick is to cut between the teeth (there's about 12 of them as I recall) and carefully pry the plastic away from the bottle. A small screwdriver or scratch awl works well.

I did have it happen once that when I had refilled several times, the top started to leak. Also, the bottles are pretty flimsy and I had one that the clips that hold it in place had poked holes in it.

If I haven't made it clear I could take some pictures and post. Let me know how it goes.
