I checked out your blog last night and saw this delightful table. The Hare pitcher is really wonderful (gotta love the long eared bunnies!).

Kathleen, all I can say is WOW ! That table is so pretty ! I loved all the pinks and pastels.. but I've got to tell you.. my eyes kept going back to the glass egg cups. They are gorgeous ! This is such a pretty table :>)

they are great ideas! so funny/odd!!.....i was going through things to get rid of for a yard sale, and i found 3 beatrix potter pop-up books the kids were never interested in, and 3 beatrix potter coloring books:D i'll try to remember to go back and peek at the colored pictures. i also remember the watering can, my mother had one like it..a huge old thing, that was ancient when i was a little girl, lol.....and the scarecrow who got peter's clothes, but i'm pretty sure there were some clay pots next to a shed, or next to the garden gate. this sounds like a great idea....good luck! kudzu

Ogrose- No, not really. I stopped buying roses that weren't hardy in our area (for the most part) and most of them get through just fine. I still try the occasional clearance rose from Lowe's, but mostly we have old-fashioned roses, Canadian hardy roses, rugosas, shrub roses, floribundas, etc. That is a cute gate! In fact, I have a little table and two chairs that same green that would look really cute, out in the garden. Now if I could only find the gate... :) I've always liked Peter Rabbit and now that the cartoon is popular, I think the kids will understand it more, too. I have the book, but it's nice if they already have an idea who Peter is and why he likes veggies! LOL It's a cute cartoon, with very positive messages...such a nice change from some of the stuff I've seen on TV. I don't let the nieces/nephews watch TV, unless I'm watching it with them or I've seen it before.

I love the idea of sitting under the grapevine. My grandparent had a concord grapevine arbor. The arbor was over a stone patio which had a table and chairs for family meals. I never realized how much work must go into maintaining the arbor until my grandparents went away one summer. I donÂt know if it was the birds feeding on the grapes or if they just fell off the vine on their own but there were purple, staining grapes EVERYWHERE! They started to ferment (and smell) and there were flies EVERYWHERE! The table and chairs were unusable because they had sticky rotting grapes allover them. My grandmother told me I had to wipe the table and chairs a couple times a day and sweep at least once a day to keep the grapes under control. I know they had a large arbor and it was nice to sit under. But, my goodness, those vines were a lot of work. I am going to create a garden for my 5 year old niece this spring. I too want to create a sitting area. I am going to make an arch out of 16Â X 4Â cow fence and a bench out of 2 x 4Âs. Swan gourds, cannon ball gourds, giant bottle gourds, and jack-be-little pumpkins will climb the arch. Hopefully none of the gourds will fall on our heads! We will use the gourds for arts and crafts projects when they are ready.

This is so funny and you play no matter what, Kathleen. I love it. That WHOLE carrot placed in the bowl and the Mickey cup, can of P & B along with the rest is great. Loved reading and your dog is a wonderful ending. OA, that was great. Kathleen wants us to believe she was a good girl but after seeing this table I'm thinking she knows how to be naughty and nice. Being the youngest girl in a family of four may tell the whole story. I was the youngest of 6 children growing up, and a little spoiled. It's always fun to come here. I'm redoing the rest of my cupboards in the utility room so I can store more dishes and things. No more hoarding here. I'm donating all I can to make more room for tablescaping items! Punk

I love how well you've combined all the various soft pastels, Kathleen. This is such a pretty and fun table! That pitcher is amazing, too! I'm positively drooling over your embroidered carrot napkins . . . what a find!!!

You always come up with such neat items for your tables! I love those little namecard holders and the cute salt/pepper shakers too. That is so neat that you were able to layer the round placemats--I wouldn't have thought to even try that! Now I've gotta go see if all mine are the same size or not--maybe I can use your idea sometime too. ;o)

Thank you, Jeanne and Luvs..I discovered last year the more expensive mats from Kohls are a little larger than the ones from CTS..1.00 ones..:)

Lynn, they still have those napkins on the WSonoma site. I paid 2 bucks each for them at the outlet. I never buy at the reg store, the prices are crazy!

I love the polka dot plates and others on the layered placemats. Such a neat look. Cute bunny name card holders. I bought some egg card holders the other day at Ross or TJ Maxx and just remembered I haven't put them out.

Cute egg cups and s & p eggs in a cute little keeper. Your centerpiece egg and Bunny pitcher look great. Is the egg made for flowers?

Hope Susan enjoyed her cupcake and jelly beans!
