Mr Levi, your table is ready...

In his travels, Mr Levi often stopped at restaurants that used his products.

Notice how one of his shirts has been jauntilly strewn across the table.

The covered wagon delivers the food, which at this 4 star place includes beans, and fresh vegetables.

He eats his dinner, wipes his mouth on his sleeve, which was the norm. However, what sets this sleeve apart from any other sleeve is the napkin ring that color co ordinates with the wagon..

We know this is a 4 star place as the utensil is monogrammed "C" for cowboy..so everyone felt welcome.

Also No Spitting was permitted, which alone made it worth the dime.

After dinner Mr. Levi sped away in a horsedrawn wagon..

To keep the papparazzi away, they employed a watch dog..

Somehow, he didn't see a thing.

That's why this event was never documented in history books.

But that's the way it was..trust me..:)

OA, it wasn't much, but I answered the call..:)

OMGosh, I am torn between cracking up at your narrative and being blown away by your imaginative table.

Karen, it is a joke! I couldn't find a thing to use except that covered wagon! So it became my "Inspiration Piece" LOL!

My Mrs. is around 4 feet at about 4 years old. Careless Love about 3-3 and 1/2 and Red Radiance stays around 4 for me. The ones at Vintage were all around 5 feet which is where my own roots came from. They will last about 3 days in the vase so for me they are definitely cuttable if for no other reason than that their fragrance is a blessing on the air and I love that scent in the house.For people whose cut flowers must last a week, this is not for them. I'll tell you a storey. I was out by the walk in late afternoon when my neighbor walked by with a miserable dark look on his face. I said "rough day at work?" He nodded grimly. I plucked an open bloom of Red Radiance and handed it to him with a "smell this." He buried his face in it and came up with a glowing happy face. I said "better?". He continued smiling and said "Gone. All gone". Now that is a rose worth cutting. la

The day after Earl is perfect. The sun is out, the sky is blue and we have a very light, delightful breeze. Earl was not much more than a wind rain/wind event in Brewster, MA. No trees down, no limbs about, not even any tree litter left to pick up. The day after Earl and all is well. The rain started at about 8:30 last night, it was heavy at times but not what I would call Hurricane worthy. The heavy rain lasted the entire night but I have no idea how much we got. We will venture out later today to check the beaches and go to the veggie garden, but from where our house sits, in the middle of a Cape Cod wood lot of pine & Oak trees, it's looking good. So, today will be spent getting everything out of the garage and back up onto the deck and patio, winnowing as needed ;). It will also be spent making some yummy peach pies and getting them into the freezer. They have been sitting on my dinning room table since Wednesday, waiting for Earl to do what ever he was going to do. Now that Earl is gone and, we did not lose power, it is safe to peel, slice, assemble and freeze. Yummm. So that's it. Mr. H. Earl did not amount to anything at all on my part of Cape Cod and I am very happy about that. He brought us some needed rain and a little excitment but no damage that I can see. I hope all of you did as well. sooey lights didn't even flicker :)

To the Chairman of the SD Rose Show. We would like you to reiterate the logistics for exhibiting at your show. Specifically: 1. Are you still suggesting that exhibitors arrive at 5AM for a 9:30AM deadline for entries? That is 4.5 hrs which is way too much time. Since you may not be able to get the judges there earlier for an earlier deadline how about doing something exhibitor friendly like promising to give out the awards at 12Pm on saturday rather than forcing the exhibitors to return (if they win after spending a grueling long Saturday in traffic going to and leaving the show) on Sunday for a 3 pm award ceremony. 2. Have the water & parking problems been resolved? If so please advise resolutions. Mr. Chairman, your show sounds like a very tough one for exhibitors and simply not worth the effort. We have many nice friends in the San Diego area and we were looking forward to going to your show. However, unless the logistics situation changes we (and many of our fellow exhibitors )are either going to bakersfield or going to stay home. Mr. Chairman, if you changed the awards ceremony to saturday afternoon so that exhibitors would not have to return on sunday perhaps it might sway some exhibitors to go your show. I for one would definitely consider it. At this stage of the game it is clear that you cannot change the date of your show which is in conflict with not just another rose show but now in conflict with the March of Dimes, Earth day, and who knows what else. However, one item in your control is the awards presentation. We have heard that many have requested that SDRS change this awards policy. Now is the time to show some appreciation for the exhibitor who will be getting up at 1AM to be there by 5AM(speaking for myself). Finally wrt your comments about Chris Greenwood. In my opinion and I am sure shared by many rose people in Southern California & in the PSWD Chis is an outstanding and dedicated Rosarian who is not deserving of your abuse.

Oh my.......just reading all these all these posts have me smiling, and tears rolling down my face, plus a few chuckles, and the biggest, warmest feeling ever!! You all are the BEST. So much caring, support, advice, and enough sweetness that I feel like I'm in a candy store. :o) I truly love you for all the joy you give, and the big hearts you have. I'd be truly lost without you in my life. Fun2B, "Decorating shouldn't be a chore, but a joy."...very wise words. I've been concentrating on the work and not the joy, I'll work on that and my decorating this weekend! Thank you! Janet, you made me laugh with your DH's 'one spoon, one plate, one glass' and a LOT of tools.....while your 'junk' clutters up the house he thinks. LOL. Men! I don't know how to you make all those wreaths with everything on your plate, and all the pain you deal with too. So very hard on you!! Sending you love and prayers, always. Nana and Jane, sweet friends who know just the right thing to say about my Dad. :o) I'm sure you are right that he's watching over me. I think of him with every bit I do as he always said he loved how it looked and showed me how much he enjoyed it. You've given me an idea on some decorating, will tell you when it's done!!! I also regret you are another of us who suffer Fibro, but you're in good company here for sure! That is wonderful you've been asked to decorate for a home tour! You must do beautiful things. I hope you can share pictures with us. Yes, holiday depression this time of year is pretty common unfortunately. Since my Dad died, I sure had a bad time the last two Christmas'es with it. And fighting it this year, but at least I'm beating it for the most part. I look forward to Christmas Eve with family, but Christmas day makes me sad. Here 'alone' and its just another day. (Mr O still goes to golf course, tho its closed, and just practices. Or watches football.) Joke or not, that is one of the most fun things I've seen as far as tables go. LOL. I had tears in my eyes from laughing over the color-cordinated napkin ring. Then I got to the dog who couldn't see and that did it for sure.

Too funny Kathleen, I love your sense of humor! Hey, you came up with more western stuff than I've been able to locate. I've even thought about going to my next door neighbor who's sort of a "cowboy" (likes horses and dogs) and seeing if he'd loan me his hat and boots! Problem is, he would probably want to come along with them! Luvs

Kathleen, too funny, I don't have a western item in my house anymore. At one time I had tons of it, but got away from it years ago!!!

I do still have many pairs of boots and a hat, but those items were left over from my days of teaching country dancing! I can't seem to part with them & the hat was so expensive & never worn, I always get headaches from hats!!!

This is so funny and you play no matter what, Kathleen. I love it. That WHOLE carrot placed in the bowl and the Mickey cup, can of P & B along with the rest is great. Loved reading and your dog is a wonderful ending.

OA, that was great. Kathleen wants us to believe she was a good girl but after seeing this table I'm thinking she knows how to be naughty and nice. Being the youngest girl in a family of four may tell the whole story. I was the youngest of 6 children growing up, and a little spoiled.

It's always fun to come here. I'm redoing the rest of my cupboards in the utility room so I can store more dishes and things. No more hoarding here. I'm donating all I can to make more room for tablescaping items!
