Best product to clean shower glass?

Do any of you know a good product to clean the clear glass of a shower door? Didn't realize at the time I had the door installed what a problem it is to keep clean. I even used rain-x which was recommended to repel water stains but that doesn't seem to work that great. I don't know if you should use the same product on your glass that you use to clean the tile or not. Suggestions would be appreciated.

I squeegee after every use, and when I get around to cleaning the shower, which I do when I can psych myself up to do so, I either use the same cleaner that I use on the tiles (Tilex soap scum or Scrubbing Bubbles) or rubbing alcohol on a paper towel.

After having an old pebble texture glass shower door with build up on it that an atomic blast wouldn't have removed, I swore never to let it happen again. I tried every product known and couldn't get it off.

When you get it off (and I'm sure you will since it's relatively new) squeegee and keep an old towel in the bathroom. Last one out of the shower sqeegees and then dries it off with the towel. My frameless doors are still spotless after 2 years and I've never cleaned them. Yes, it takes about 90 seconds to do but if I count the time I would have spent spraying chemicals, scrubbing etc then I'd rather do the daily wipe down.

The squeegee is your friend...use it after every shower and you will rarely need to scrub away hard water stains, soap scum, mildew or water spots! We use the clear Target brand squeegee--$9 and it comes with a suction cup hook. I did see one by OXO that looked really neat--its called the OXO Scrub & Squeegee. It has a bar with a microfiber cloth on it on 1 side and a silicon squeegee on the other. Yes, bar soap will cause lots of grief with glass, acrylic, fiberglass and tile. The way it was explained to me was that it had to do with the amount of animal fat used in bar soap to make it hold it's shape. Body wash is supposed to be the answer. My DH detests body wash, so we've been using Dove Energizing (yellow box with pic of citrus fruit) and have had no problems. We did try the Dove translucent/glycerin-based soaps when we had an acrylic tub. I don't recommend it as it left a sticky film on everything. But the regular Dove bar soaps seem to be ok. Best product for routine stone cleaning

What's the absolute best product for routine cleaning of: 1. Polished travertine floor tiles 2. Polished granite counters 3. Honed travertine floor and shower tiles ? I've found a lot of conflicting information online. Some says to just use water, which seems insufficient to me, especially in the shower, but also in the kitchen. Also a lot of stuff I've found online is about how to do it "cheaply" which isn't really my goal. These materials are a big investment, and I'm happy to spend money to maintain them well. (The stone all came with our house, so we can't ask the installer what he/she recommends.) We have a cleaning lady, and she'll use any product and tool we ask her to (we supply it), but it does need to be simple enough that she and her helper can do it weekly. Thanks.

I would strongly suggest NOT using Murphy's Oil Soap on any kind of finished wood surface. It can do more than clean --- it can also damage the finish over time. It will also damage the finish on vinyl floors - use distilled white vinegar instead, or whatever the manufacturer of the product suggests. What you "think" is dirt on your cleaning rag is probably the finish slowly being removed. What you "think" is a clean shine is just a coating of chemical crap that traps dirt and dust on the surface. Hubby is a V.P and CKD with a cabinet manufacturing company (40-years with the company), and when they see damaged finishes, it's usually from people using Murphy's Oil Soap on cabinets, so they specifically state not to use it or it will void the warranty. Use Murphy's Oil Soap at your own risk in your own home, but if you are cleaning someone else's home, I would suggest nothing more than mild soap and water will do the trick just as well. And make sure you have good liability insurance for any damage you may have to repair. Even better - for you, the environment, and your pocket (cost) - switch to cleaning with steam instead of a long list of harmful chemicals you enjoy so much. I have friends who take care of some of the most expensive homes in our area, and all they use are steam cleaners and distilled water for their machines. Occasionally they may need a natural cleaner - vinegar, baking soda, liquid castile soap.... But they don't need a tote full of dangerous chemicals. -Grainlady

We found it's best to stop using ordinary soap. When we switched to Dove almost all of our cleaning problems disappeared. I am told that liquid soap will work well too.

Try dryer sheets on the glass. It gets off the soap scum. Works for me. I actually learned that here on GW.

The cleaning service I used before I moved used CLR. We also squeegeed after each shower. The shower doors were always pristine. Now if only I could convince the woman who owned the service to move 600 miles east!

Try a shower cleaning spray called METHOD. Comes in a clear bottle. Excellent - spray daily after showering and you'll see the difference.

Putting myself through college with a housekeeping business the best product to clean glass shower doors of soap scum / water spots is trisodium phospate or TSP for short. Your local hardware store should have it in either powder or liquid form and is cheap. I've only used the powdered stuff and mixed it myself. Just wipe on with a sponge, rinse off with water and towel dry -cloth diapers, are great. Yes cloth diapers, they don't leave lint - Target & WalMart should have them.

I still use it and it works on porcelain tubs too.
* * *I don't know if it is safe to use on natural stone! So you may want to read the box or look it up on Wiki.

I re-did my bath about 6 weeks ago and had new glass shower/tub doors installed. I've been using a squeegee daily on them and once every 10 days or so I use a hand steamer (Shark) on them and they look great all the time. So far so good! I also use only liquid soap. I also use the steamer on the tiles. Neither the glass nor the tiles ever even look like they need cleaning, but I do it anyway to keep it clean and gleaming...
