St. Pat's table!

Ok, it's gloomy as heck here today, we are having "thunderstorms"!! Yes, after all the sub-zero temps & snow, we are having rain. But, not for long, they are predicting this will turn into ice then snow!!!

Grandson is gone to friends & son & other two gkids are not here, so it's a nice quiet day to get this done!

So, I put all my V Day decor away (that's a job in itself) and tried 3 different sets of placemats, ironed all of them!!! UGH!

Finally decided on the ones you see. I have played around re-arranging things & finally settled on this. My new camera is taking blurred pics, will have son look at it! Another UGH!

Blue & Green glasses are the ones I got at Osco for .50 each & the wine glasses were from a garage sale, as well as the placemats & napkins & napkin holders. The bell cloche is also from garage sale, it's my smaller one & the little statues from Hobby Lobby & flowers from Michaels. The green plates are from Target last year, I have a whole set like the one under the cloche, just too lazy to haul them all out today.

yachter, your irish table is very cute! I especially like the irish figures under the cloche, but the placemats and the other accessories also look quite nice. Can you believe that I am Irish but don't have any decorations for St. Pat's day!!? Hmmm, need to start shopping!

I really like your apple display on the cupboard too. NICE!

Yachter, such a cute holiday set up, I love the green with the honey caramel color of your dining table and chairs. I really must go to more garage sales!

YGG, OA!!! (you go girl...:) ) Yes, Luvs, they are ceramic...The blue and white is very pretty...for a dollar I should have bought 4 instead of 2...could have used them as a salad plate! The hearts sold out early...I've had them in the car since before Cmas! And none left last time I went... Mo, to tell you the truth, I can't remember what I have shown and what I have tucked away...but sooner or later you will see them in a tablesetting! I know I have some plates, dark blue and white patterned squares in the trunk from HG, and I bought a lot of black and white patterned salad plates at HG as they were marked down to 1.00...I figured I could use them with my black , white or maybe even the red dinner plates. I will have to play with them... And I have some red and white polka dots I will use for a Val setting.. And thanks for your interest...I don't want to bore anyone...but I love seeing what others buy too!

Karen, that rainbow did make me take a second look, maybe a third! The tureen is generic but the shape is what I liked. I will share pictures of my cabinets today. I took some last night before DS showed up. Nana, I'm a copy cat with the dishes! You do have the same ones. I went back and was thrilled when I found your first table. Loved the ones in the second St Pats table post too. Jane had some Wedgwood Ivy and donated them or we'd see more. Have you set a table yet for St Paddy's or decided which dishes your using? Hope I get lucky this year while out and come across a set of those.LOL I would send you the candle holders but this is the first table I've used them on! Maybe you will find some while out shopping this year. Thanks for the sweet comments and keeping our Holiday forum active. Punk

Thanks Jim. It was fun to do, and I'm not good enough at decorating to take it too seriously--so I just try to have fun with it and do it for the pleasure it gives me. Wanna hear something fun? Even before I found this forum, I always tried to do a little something special for a centerpiece for our family gettogethers. My DIL enjoyed it so much that she started doing it too. I just love it when I go over and see how she has added some pretties to her table now too. ;o) We all have to eat, so it's great if we can make it pretty and fun too. Luvs

You were on a roll today! And what darling results. For some reason I'm especially taken with the little decor on the counter. Hopefully you've inspired to get out my St Pat's, I only got as far as putting away all the Val stuff.

Those cloches just make things look even nicer don't they? Your table looks very warm and inviting. And I just love the little grouping on your counter too. This is proof that you can decorate really nice without breaking the bank. Good job. Luvs

Everything on the counter is garage sale, except the apples, which Hobby Lobby had 40% off a few weeks ago.

I love the cloches, they do make everything look special. There is a handfull of gold coins in front of the little Irish people but you can't see them in the photo.

I just love this hobby, but must find more room in basement for storage since garage sales will be starting in April!!!!

Yes Judith, you must hit some of those garage sales, amazing what you can find!!!
