LG, I LOVE everything. The colors, the arrangements, the way you loaded the cloche with roses! Now I may be borrowing YOUR idea on that. Its just beautiful.

How sweet you have your grandparents wedding photo! They would be so honored by what you've done. And I sure wouldn't polish those candlesticks either, they are just perfect as is. I think decorating on trays not only makes sense for moving things around if needed, but its so pretty too. And I am REALLY happy to not be the only one who has Cat Re-Decorators in the house! LOL. (maybe we should send ours to Jim for lessons in behaving better around our treasures)

I love all of it. Like Karen, I'm so happy someone besides me has to figure ways to combat the re-decorater kitty(ies). I've been on the lookout for a large cloche and apothacary jar for that very purpose. I figure if I stuff things under the glass, he'll leave it alone. LOL

I'm going to borrow that idea for my heart plates and display them like that in a small vignette..
I too like certain silver pieces with a 'patina' to them.

Love the color combos you used, luckygal! The bluebird glass pc is just BEAUTIFUL! Of course, I am envying your pottery hearts & family candlesticks...everything looks great! I like some patina also...such as the lid on the button jar on the buffet that I posted.

I am now on the lookout for an interesting cloche...our HL has lots of big glass thing-ies on sale often, so I'll keep looking until the right one jumps off the shelf to me! (maybe at a TS or GS!) TFS pics! Happy Val's! Jeanne S.

oh, I LIKE those lavendars and blues for Valentine's Day!!! The heart-shaped plate is great... as is your collection of pottery and art-glass hearts. Just beautiful. It's something that would work better in my house than RED! (I love red decor, but the clash with my basic color scheme is enough to hurt the eyes. lol!)

You've done such a nice job. Everything is so peaceful. I think I appreciate a vignette/arrangement more when someone has gathered together what they already have (i.e. things that are special to them), rather than buying so many new things just because they "go" with the theme.

BTW, I'm crazy about your silver candlesticks. They look a bit on the art deco side.

Thanks so much everyone. I should point out that there is no lavender or purple in my arrangements, just blue, green, and pink. I know that computers don't show colors as they are sometimes. I know mine is off on the green tones but I haven't figured out how to change it.

Karen, I'm named after my GM and altho I never knew her there's a strong connection. I've had cats almost all my life and know they only learn what they want to. Most are quite intelligent but give new meaning to "willful". Mine stay off the furniture (mostly) when I am around but at night they are into everything I'm sure.

Syble that white heart was a great YS find and very useful.

MM, my little cloche was (of course) a YS find and I'd love a larger one but don't want to pay much. I may have to breakdown and do so tho because I'd love to have one to play with.

Jane, heart plates can be used year-round IMO. I often use that one in a vignette with my childhood treasures. I also have a smaller blue one but haven't used it for V this year yet. They also look nice hung on the wall.

Jeanne, I love the lid on your button jar. Have you ever thot of using a glass hurricane upside down as a cloche? I've seen that and tried it with mine but haven't taken a pic. Maybe I'll play with that and see what you all think.

Magpie, I love yard saling and have found many great "finds". I'm looking forward to them starting again in a couple of months.

Party music, the only room in my house that red works in is my kitchen so IKWYM. I think a person could even use all whites or creams with appropriate shapes.

OA, I have so much stuff from yard sales I seldom buy things for specific seasons any more. Also I'm running out of storage space and am just plain *cheap*. I'm not sure of the history of the candlesticks - Gran came from England over 100 years ago but she also shopped thrift stores.

Lynn, I love amethysts and purple and have a few crystals and other things but have never put them together in a vignette - thanks for the idea!

I'm late getting here, but agree with everyone else's comments. I've always loved anything heart shaped, and you sure have some pretty ones. I think you could mix in any colors you wanted and they would look "romantic" with that pretty heart shaped plate as part of the vignette. This was very smart of you to do your vignette to go with your decor and by using things you already had. Very pretty. Luvs

Seems your candles and hearts came across purple and they aren't? So are they pink or blue?

I'm sorry you never knew your Grandmother, bet you two would have been so close. I think its heart-warming you feel connected to her, and are named after her.

I've had cats all my life too, LOL, and "willful" might be an under-statement. I often think they believe we are here solely for their amusement! And to open cans of course.

You aren't 'cheap', I think most of us are thrifty and love shopping for bargains. I never had anything for the smaller holidays like Val, St Patty, or Halloween till I joined this Forum and started decorating. I didn't even really do Easter for that matter. So I began getting stuff at after-the-holiday sales and Goodwill or Dollar Tree.
I can and do get carried away at times, and running out of room is a common problem among most of us here.

Karen, the pottery hearts, candles, and lovebirds are blue. The glass candlestick is pale green. On my monitor they look quite close to RL but I know on paint chips my monitor is really off on the sage greens. There's a way to balance the color, one of the paint co's has it but I can't figure it out. Computer challenged here!

I really only started decorating for every season after I retired 5 years ago. Before that I didn't have time, only did Christmas, and Easter and Halloween for our kids and Grands. Years ago not many people decorated the way we do now. Still many don't but I think it's fun. What I love about yard sales is that I can buy lots more for the price of retail sale prices. Can't beat that!
