Help....I can't stop buying Cherubs

I don't know WHAT is going on with me and Cherubs lately. For several years, the only ones I bought were the Mikasa ones for my Christmas collection, and a couple I saw in GW that I would use for Valentine decorating. I never had a 'real' interest in Cherubs. Till now!! I'm trying to figure out if suddenly I just want to be surrounded by these little white angels....or if I'm so stir-crazy from not leaving the house in months that

I am indulging in a new collection (which I sure don't need)...or what is going on with me. But I now have FOUR

new Cherub candleholders!

I saw this one on eBay a few nights ago and just had to bid on it. No one else did, so I won it this morning.

BUT....last night this trio came up on a Buy It Now and I couldn't resist them! I think they are really lovely.

I need to stay off eBay awhile it looks like. LOL.

Last week, after I packed my winter decor, I was going to get out my Valentine decorations. First I just tweaked the family-room mantel a bit by adding the garland, mercury bird and ball, and putting a little cherub in the one cloche. Then I just stopped. And never got my Val things out. I already regret that, but its too late for me to do it, too much work for just a few days. (I hate when the Fibro wins.) Anyway, here's the mantel. At least some red still in the house.

Oh, I am lovin' your cherubs! I've been on the look-out, too ...after seeing these cuties pop up for V-day this month! You sure got some lovely ones on e-bay...good for you...yes, another collection is ok...you can use them not only once a yr but for other times, too...if you wish! LOL!

Your mantle looks very pretty...& "red" & the little cherub in the cloche is so DARN CUTE! Lookin' good, PM! TFS! Jeanne S.

Hi, I hope no one minds that I am asking this again. I really need help from gardeners who have experience with this. I have asked many gardeners about where to store my seeds and almost every gardener has said to keep them in a dark, cool, dry place. Many gardeners have suggested putting my seeds in a plastic box like tupperware, adding a few dessicants and putting them in the bottom of my refrigerator. Some gardeners have mentioned that putting seeds in the freezer would not be a good idea as it destroys the seeds. However, I have more room in my freezer than in my refrigerator (which means I can buy more seeds!). I would really like to hear your thoughts and experiences. Can someone tell me the best way to store my seeds. Is it safe to store all of my seeds in the freezer? I mostly have vegetable, fruit and herb seeds (and want to buy more!). I'm in the same boat as all of you. Although, I have vowed to myself that after the butterfly garden is planted (waiting for plants to arrive any day now) I'm only going to buy one Buxus 'Valdar Valley' and learn to propogate them for the hedge I need. After estimating how many I'd need to enclose my rose/herbal garden (about 14) I figured propagation would be the cheapest way to do this. At $12.50 a pop, I don't have much choice. Other than plants I'm really hooked on pots - big ones, small ones, cement, stone, terra cotta - it doesn't much matter. I want lots of them all over my back patio and here and there throughout my garden. It never ends! And when I'm not gardening (or salivating at the nearest garden center) I'm usually reading gardening books or magazines. My sanity returns in winter, when gardening is no longer an option.

Help - can't buy screws for Dell's second hard drive

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Raven and Owbist, I am so grateful to you. It seems I am safe using the screws for the hard drive bay that I already used. Raven - they are the ones in the first link. Owbist - I pilfered the only screw from my old Dell desktop that looked like the right kind. I only found one screw that seemed to match - I'm not certain what it was holding in - perhaps the power source or fan. At any rate, I think I best replace that before I might ever try to start that old computer up. I don't believe it had a floppy drive - or I'd be happy to remove it (it had just a cd drive). The case is fairly secure for now - but I'd feel better securing it completely - if the cleaning woman bumps the vacuum against it - or my daughter roots around there for a lost ball or toy, it might accidentally open. There's no urgency there, but I'd rather get it taken care of. I suppose I could open the tower again - and take out one of the screws - and match it at a store that builds computer parts. But if I don't have to, I'd rather not power everything down and unhook it. If the hard drive seems securing screwed in (and no part of the screw is protuding), can I safely assume it's fine - and just worry about replacing the case screws. that would be easier. I wish I'd come here first - and saved myself some aggravation. not a single person at Dell was able to give me this information - even though they had all the information you guys did. I truly don't want to have to buy from them again. They were similarly inept when I wanted to add a firewire port last summer. They have a front slot for it - but nobody had the right part numbers. Luckily the Dell forum was filled with trials and tribulations of others who'd attempted this - with no consistent accurate answers from Dell. At least someone there provided the necessary parts - in fact, when I ordered what Dell insisted was all I needed, it was only 1/2 of what I needed. Soon my daughter will be ready for a new desktop. Is there a company to buy them from with good reliability and quality and good technical/customer support? Should I just have one built from a computer place that builds computers? that purchase is likely to be in 2010. Thank you again. Lynn.

This forum is the best!!! We are working on renovating parts of our house, including the kitchen. Right now my brain is fried because all of the bids coming in from contractors are WAY MORE than we can afford! (too long a story to post here) So we're going to have to scale back on our plans. That said, we will definitely be relacing the range that came with our house. It's an older Jenn-Aire dual fuel slide-in that I can't wait to get rid of!! We'll also be replacing an old Amana OTR microwave. I've been looking around and was originally thinking of the GE Cafe (AG or DF). Then I saw the Electrolux line that just came out (also either AG or DF). Lastly, I stopped in a local appliance store last week and they have a couple of floor models at about $400 off retail -- KA Architect II and a GE Profile AG. The floor models have never been hooked up -- only on display. They seem to be in good condition and the store would give a warranty as brand new. Also, I've been researching these models - including searching the posts here - so I'm aware of the many pros and cons of each. Since we're not sure when we're actually going to be doing any real work in the kitchen we're thinking of going ahead and buying a new range now, except I can't decide!!!! HELP!

The little guys you bought are lovely.
Like you, I've been looking at them too..but haven't seen any as nice as yours. I think you can enjoy them anytime.. and not just for VDay.

Love all your new cherubs. After seeing your collections again, one more will be wonderful for us to drool over. I think staying home all the time is hard if one is use to getting out every now & then. A Girls Gotta Do, What a Girls Gotta Do!

Your mantel looks great with all the mercury. Is your plate mercury also? Sure is pretty. Love your decorated cloches. I need to try making some. Maybe in time I will have the right things to put in them.

I'm taking down all the red tonight and replacing with blue. DGD is coming to spend the weekend with us and I want to see what she has to say about it.

Nice cherub finds Karen. I found lots of them a few years ago while "treasure shopping" and now have a whole boxful which you've all seen on previous Valentine's tablescapes. I do keep two good sized ones out year round on top of the television hutch in our bedroom They usually have such sweet faces--I'm never really sure which are "cherubs" and which are "angels" but I like them all!

I guess Cherubs ARE angels, Luvs. They are just children instead of adults. I really like the white ones (obviously, LOL) tho the little one in my cloche is colored and one of my favorites. Found it at GW years ago.

Yes Punk, the plate and candle holders are mercury glass too. I love that stuff. I found the huge plate at Ross last year, and the candleholders at Home Goods. I have a pink mercury pair too, but they are smaller. I'll get them out for Easter.
Taking down the red BEFORE Valentines, Punk? LOL, guess you are having a blue Valentine's huh? Hope its a Happy one tho. (just another day around here, Mr Oblivious doesn't have a romantic thought in his head, tho he will get me a card.)

I guess my Cherubs don't have to be put out at only Christmas and Valentine's, so I'll just have fun decorating with them whenever I want. They are making me happy....one of Life's simple pleasures I guess!

Karen, What is it with cherubs? I seem to be VERY attracted to them lately as well. Your mantel looks wonderful, Mercury glass goes with everything doesn't it? Sorry the fibro has got you down again. Please take care!
