Hi Jenn, love the linens you found, and what a cute mystery about Henry! ;o)

I am one of the few who still love pretty linens and doilies on my dressers and tables. Have several that DH's Grandmother made, some found at TS, and a few bought at little shops. I like to change them out from time to time so I can enjoy them. And I have a little wooden floor rack meant for holding magazines that I drape my scarves and doilies on and display them in my livingroom.

While I've tried my hand at embroidery in the past, for me the crochet lace on the edges is what makes them so special and romantic--and I don't know how to do that! ;o(

Your blog is so fun, but I always end up taking off on some of the links to other blogs that you post and end up spending way too much time "browsing" and enjoying everyone's finds and creativity! LOL

I did leave you a comment on your blog, but still wanted to say here too that I love your linens, especially the embroidered ones..it reminds me of the beautiful ones my mom used to do. The lamb baby planter is so cute too, you just can't find them in my area :(

These linen are beautiful! So much "old fashioned way"... I really love them and they would fit my country home very well, lol.

Otherwise, do you know something? I had a beautiful painting on a golden wood frame (medallion shaped). It was very old: I received it from my grand mother. This painting was a swinning lady; exactly the same as the one that I saw on your blog (It has been stolen ten years ago in a fleamarket where I planned to sell it but finally decided to keep it).

This is a great present you will give to your friend! I sincerely hope that she will be happy ;-)

Oh, thanks everyone. I knew you all would appreciate the linens and it just boggles my mind that other folks aren't going through this section of the store at all. There were tons of linens to choose from, all with such nice detailing.

I guess it's nice to be a "More is More" girl during a "minimalist" trend. :)

Prosperity- what an interesting thing, someone had done a rendition of that painting... I see it on things like china sometimes, but not terribly often. My friend has a number of urns and candlabras that have courting couples on it similar to that, so I think she'll be happy with it.

Could you share your link to your Holidays blog? Because I'd be happy to add your link to my blog as well. I imagine my readers would really like to learn about your holidays and what you do for them.

Jenn - I just love those linens. I am very blessed to have linens from my maternal grandmother, my Mom and my Aunt - all of whom did wonderul embrodiary and crocheting. I treasure them so much and have them on various tables, dressers and backs of chairs, ect. They need to be seen and appreciated.

As for the lamb planter - I got one just like that from the ladies at church when my daughter was born. Not sure what happened to it but I do still have the little potty planter and baby train planter that I got when my son was born.

I love your blog also and like luvs tend to wander off on some of the other blog sites - thanks for sharing....

Lynne, it's so nice you have some of your own family's handicrafts-- I think that means so much more, really. Thanks, too, for sharing your planter stories-- I wasn't thinking of them as shower gifts, but they certainly make sense in that way.

And I'm so glad you and Luvs have enjoyed exploring the other blogs. There are some amazingly talented people out there. I use that list myself to visit and keep up with everybody! Otherwise, I think I'd be lost!

Jenn - the lamb and the train had plants in them - I got them delivered to me at the hospital. The little potty bowl had a fresh cut flower arrangement in it. I think they all came from a florist shop. You are so right about the talented ladies - I just get lost in some of the sites and get so much inspiration. It happens to me on the garden forums also - so many neat blogs with so many pretty gardens.......

I think that this painting has been made by a well known artist but don't remember his name but saw it few weeks ago while reading something about European history.

I also owned a reproduction of this painting and often saw that kind of painting on lots of items such as porcelain, tapestry, etc.

Well, classic French 17th/18th centuries ornaments ;-) I love them.
