Need help fast - which finish for a white powder room sink?

Help! DH is sitting at computer ready to put the order in and we can't decide on faucet finish. Sink and toilet will be white. Floor is muted tones of 5" hexagon quartzite (tan, blue, grey, rust). I thought satin or brushed nickel would work better with the rustic floor, but DH is preferring polished nickel. Thanks!

I know it doesn't give you an answer, but either will look fine with what you've chosen. It all comes down to personal preference.

Think about what coordinating items you want that will go with it. I wouldn't want one of the finishes on the faucets and the other on sconces, for instance. I actually think with the rustic floor, if your faucets were satin nickel and if you chose not to do satin nickel on your sconces as well, you could do a black or oil rubbed bronze finish on your sconces if you wanted. There are pics. in some of the bathrooms here that have done that and it looks great.

Any of those finishes will look great with Quartzite. We used brushed nickel because it's easiest of the them all to keep clean. :c)

The other thing you might want to consider for your bathroom is some kind of tile. I write about kitchens and baths all the time, and one of the things that most interests me is the absolutely mind-blowing things that can be done with tile. Last month I posted what was probably the thirtieth or fortieth blog on this subject (thereÂs a link below). ThereÂs a company in Italy that makes tile that actually look a bit like lava flows from a volcano! But what blew my mind all the more was the elegance with which this concept was evoked. And the many things that can be done with it. Working in a space that small, you will, after youÂve installed the toilet and sink have a very small bathroom. But you knew that when you started. So, what happens next? If you simply install a "standard" toilet and vanity, you will be left with a nondescript room that is much too small. On the other hand you can use something like the Volcanic Designer Tiles I wrote aboutÂor, quite frankly, about a bazillion other tile designs that are available these daysÂto transform that dinky little room into something that is a real conversation piece. Are we talking "gold" or "polished brass" ? Not the same thing at all but many of the young use the term interchangeably. I used polished brass in a guest room bath as it has and antique footed tub and antique footed basin out of an old local hotel. It looks right. In master bath, I used polished nickel- again it just looks right in this 1948 house, First for full bath has polished chrome as that was what was in the tub and I was not gutting the entire bath - just new toilet, basin with legs and wallpaper.

@lulu bella thanks for checking in! I haven’t purchased it yet, but I think I’m going to go with the attached crystal flush mount. It’s fairly heavy, so I decided to take a look at how the existing light is attached and... it was hung using a small rectangle wall box like you’d use for light switches, sigh. Unfortunately I caught this after the ceiling was prepped, but fortunately my electrician is pretty good at being careful with drywall.

I love people who throw out random opinions using words like out-dated, passe, etc. Two great grays for south light are B.M. Stonington Gray and Gray Owl and a beauty, if you would go darker: Gull Wing Gray. Only because you have a beautiful up-to-date cherry vanity, I thought I would throw a color in the ring…B.M. Carolina Gull. It is one of my new favorites. It is a knock out with south light.

Thanks for the feedback.

I had one other thought. Since you are talking about oil rubbed bronze for the scones, how do you think this would look for the faucet finish on the white sink? Note that the sink is a 1930's art deco style.

I don't know why I was thinking you had a white vanity, not a pedestal. Here's a pic. of a sink with oil rubbed bronze faucet and mirror. I think I would prefer nickel with it.
