Help me finish the powder room - I need tile help.
Comments (3)I love the godmorgan sink for their clever plumbing moving the ptrap to the back so that you can have drawers. I got one but my plumber threw up all over it for the cheap quality of the plastic in the plumbing. He did agree about the design and is building ours with the ptrap in the back so that we can do drawers using better quality stock parts. Mirrors.. I would suggest picking this first as this will drive much tile you need. Have you looked at IKEA mirrors. They are a good price point. Also home goods etc.. Faucet.. Online prices are much better.. Do you like the look of the faucet in the picture? I went with a simple version from a good quality brand for my regular bathrooms with a single lever. For powder room, I also wanted it to be fun and did wall mounted in antique copper....See MoreNeed help with finishing touches to Dining room
Comments (17)You obviously enjoy restricted palette..I'd add texture and subtle variations of same colors rather than something completely different..you can always change that later if the mood strikes, but for now I can see you like this traditional, calm vibe..reminds me of old Swedish interiors.. I'd add rug, curtains(good advice was given before on taking them as high as you can), a mirror..some rough texture, some velvet or maybe linen, some sparkle and shine..... Again, don't try to match it too hard in terms of the colors-the colors will look slightly different on each texture, and it's a good thing-it adds depth, otherwise the room might feel flat. A plant will bring freshness to the room. They always do)) Now where I would add color-some art. You can depart from your calm vibe there if you wish-almost any great painting or drawing would work. Congratulations on your new place!!...See MoreFinishing touches for powder room
Comments (29)Jodie - I love those sconces! Where are they from? How fun and different?? Maybe I will keep them in mind for the dining room. Just to clarify - the wallpaper in the bedroom photo is a different color than the one we selected. AprilNeverEnds - thank you for all the options! I am not sure on width - what makes sense in this space? I love the modern look of the first one, but I should have mentioned I have 4 year old twins that use this powder room more often than I prefer and their cute little fingerprints would constantly be all over the chrome / mirror vanity. I love the clean looks of all the options you picked. The last option is spooky and definitely in theme with this month ;) We want to stay under $600 if possible because this redo is part of a much larger home transformation so saving pennies where we can. As for why recessed and not a flushmount - I prefer a much more sleek clean look overall and I didn't want too much going on with cool sconces and an overhead light fixture. Also - I struggle to make decisions and didn't want one more thing I had to pick out and coordinate with overall design of powder room. We currently have flushmounts throughout our home hallways and I struggled to find something that would coordinate with out entry foyer. In the end we have decided to convert all of those to simple sleek recessed lights....See MoreNeed help with finishing touches in family room.
Comments (78)thanks all! Pic attached of the nested tables turned to the side and the answers to some of the questions I got from you all. The nested tables are definitely functional. We used them right away but I can probably find better. The arm of the sofa is 23 inches and the nested table is 23 inches so in terms of size I think they work but maybe just a better style? I plan to change the lamp. (again I think I can find something better) and I continue to search for the right ottoman, wall art and ceiling light fixture. I think I might attempt black and white photos of my family in black frames like Grover has the layout that was posted. I picked up some other accessories (see 2nd pic) The TV still needs to come down. I am trying desperately to avoid window treatments and or wait until the end so make my decision on that. I want something very simple. maybe bamboo shades?...See MoreCheryl Smith
