Miele dishwasher problem
Comments (3)We had the same problem with 5 yr old Miele DW a couple years ago. The intake valve was fried and the intake assembly had to be replaced. DH usually keeps everything running himself, but needed a service call for that one. (Still have and love that DW; only thing we kept when we redid the kitchen last summer.) Good luck, Ruby...See MoreMiele Inspira g2120 dishwasher rinse/drying/end blinking
Comments (23)Steve, when the kitchen remodel was done about 10 years ago, I went with a GE Profile (about $1000) and over the year I had it there was 6-8 service calls due to continual problems. Lowes took it back and went with an Electrolux Wave-Touch at $1200, it had even more problems and after 3 months it went back and ended up with a full credit. Then researched a bit more, looked at Miele and Bosch for several month, and ended up with the Diamante Plus model (about $1400). Had 7 years of no issues, until the solenoid went out last year. The part from Miele was $200, but I was able to use a GE part for $40. Now a year later the circulation pump went and is $700. No way getting around that unless one shows up on eBay at a lower price. Even today, a higher end GE, KitchenAid, LG, Samsung, Bosch can run in the $1200+ range, so might as well go with a Miele....See More18" Dishwasher-help deciding or experience-Miele, Bosch or Gaggeneau
Comments (9)We decided to go with the Bosch. My husband liked the construction better than the Miele which seemed flimsy. We also have decided to go with a 24" Sub-Zero column with 24" undercounter freezer drawers as yet to be determined. I like the Fischer and Paykel better than the Sub-Zero. That is going to be in a corner that was going to be long term storage but I had to give it up. 30" frig would have been giving up the Miele Speed oven or storage. The Speed Oven won. There is a 15" under counter freezer by Summit that is integrated. But it is just a bit too small for our needs....See MoreMiele dishwasher drain hose problem?
Comments (11)ILoveRed, one of the strange things is that Miele does have repair staff in my city, and they have installers on contract. Coordination and oversight of their services seem to be what is missing in my ongoing (and frustrating!) experience. It is a shame because I do like the dishwasher itself. gspark, I think the black hose may have been from the previous dishwasher and the Miele installers reused it instead of changing it? Or the installers took a short cut and used the black hose for some reason? I really don’t know. If I had had any idea that what should have been a routine task would turn out to be an ordeal I would have taken “before” pictures. I sure hope that the pipe doesn’t have to be replaced because I just had the plumber replace the piping. Miele repair said there was a crack at the drainage connection meaning I had to get a plumber to replace the piping before I could use the dishwasher again. How and when this crack happened I don’t know (during the installation? the blockage repair when the hose was disconnected from the pipe? other?). It seems to me that when we pay for the expensive Miele product and installation service they should ensure that the appropriate fittings and hoses are supplied and properly installed so that the machine functions properly. And consumers should be advised of any special additional requirements in advance. The cost of the Miele installation service was considerably more than the going rate. I do not understand why a longer right-sized hose was not supplied and looped in a better location, as they are supposed to be the “experts”. At minimum the installers should have pointed out these deficiencies so steps could be taken to rectify them before problems developed as a result. I was nearby the whole time during the installation and they said all was fine. I am continuing to pursue Miele about the hose/installation problem.... I don’t want to deal with another expensive, time-wasting avoidable blockage. Thank you all for your insights and support, and letting me vent....See Morefauguy
