I love my dish drawers--the top drawer is so much easier on my back. I run the bottom drawer far less often. At first I designated it as storage, but since I've found it more useful for pots, pans and other large items that I don't use on a daily basis. The only danger is that you will get spoiled. When I go to my sister's house and have to load her traditional dishwasher, I really, really miss my dish drawers. Loading an old fashioned dishwasher is such a chore compared to that fabulous top drawer.

Nope--I just replaced my dw with the tall ss dishdrawers and was told that although it was a two year warranty and is now a one yr warranty. I wanted to get the extended warranty (since consumer reports rated the repair record so poorly) but dh wouldn't go for it. I was told by the seller/store that I have up until the expiration of the one yr warranty to purchase the extended warranty if I still want it. If I have problems with this dw, I probably will buy it. I have to say-- so far I am really enamored with the dishdrawers. Love washing small loads without guilt. And they are so pretty.

ChiSue, The drain hoses flex every time the drawers are opened/closed but there's no immediate concern unless they're leaking. They're designed to be flexible but cracking at some point of aging is a fairly common thing. The fill hoses also flex but they're more of a stretchy/rubbery material than the drain hoses. My lower drawer drain hose had a crack a few inches behind the drawer. Both had cracks where they exit behind the unit and made a sharp turn toward the left through the cabinetry partition. Impossible to see back there when the unit is in place so I have no idea how much bend is in effect on the new hoses. :-| KA discontinued drawer dishwashers a few years ago. The only brand currently on the US market is F&P, and possibly DCS (which is owned by F&P). I considered updating to the latest model (tall upper drawer!) and the racking is more adjustable now ... but decided to fix the DD603.

I just went back and looked. The $499 clearance is NOT the one with the water softener. My dh just told me he really likes the softener. I asked, "can't I just throw a little salt in there?" Our glasses have never looked so good. And thanks for the photo! ugh Still thinking about it though.
