I hate my new Bosch DW. It does NOT clean dishes
Comments (41)I assume that this problem was resolved since this is an old posting. However for those like myself who also had the same trouble and hated Bosch; I found a solution. The spray arms are poorly designed and the tiny holes clog over time. Unscrew the "nut" attaching each of the spray arms and use an ice pick or something small to unclog the holes along the arms. You will have to tilt the arm back and forth and shake out all the particles through the center connection hole in order to clean it out. Run water through it to be sure it is clear and shake it until there is no sound and the holes are clear. Re-attach to the machine and you will have sparkling dishes again. I cursed the darned dishwasher for weeks until I learned this!...See MoreMiele DW Review + Pics + Washing with Open Door Video!

Comments (28)Try using more detergent and see if that helps. This thing of using 1 tablespoon of detergent. It all depends on your water conditions and how dirty the load is. If you have a very dirty poorly scraped load and you have hard water or you just have hard water or you just have a large dirty load - you need more detergent. If you have only a few dishes and they are not dirty or you have very soft water - less detergent. In my opinion there is no such thing as only using one amount of detergent for every type of load unless you are going to toss in a detergent tablet, then in most cases you have no choice but to use the entire thing. Try a few loads with more detergent - get Electrasol tabs and toss 1 in the main wash cup run a few loads with this and let us know if that helps with the odor. Also if you are using a low temp energy saving cycle switch to using the normal regular cycle and see if that helps....See MoreDWs: Miele, Bosch, Kenmore or KitchenAid. Which one? help! xpost
Comments (43)I've had a Miele for 10 years - no problems other than it etches my glassware which I did a lot of research on when it happened right from the start and there was no solution other than using the China and Crystal cycle any time I had any glassware in it. I also seem to be the only person who has had that problem. All in all though since I can only use one cycle and would never put any good glassware in it, it was far overpriced for the features I use. I have a rather basic 12 year old Bosch at another house and really like it - works great, no problems. Both are very quiet which I love. I recently moved out of the MIele house and will need to replace my 15 year old dishwasher there that sounds like a jet engine. I will get a Bosch....See Morelynnette63
