PaintingFool - your decorations are gorgeous and yet very whymsical - I could just look at your tree forever and still not see all the neat ornaments - it looks like a very 'fun' tree that holds alot of memories. I am so glad you posted them - brought a smile to my face on a very cold (for us anyway) January morning.....

You have quite a collection of Snowmen and Santas too PF. I just love little snowmen faces. You have a lovely home. Your pastel mantel looks really soft and pretty too. And your table looks great--have we seen a close up of those plates? You know how we love dishes! How fun the tree is with your collected hand painted ornaments. I kept trying to see details of each one. Might be too late this year, but next year I think we should do pics of our favorite ornaments. I know as I packed mine, I certainly enjoyed remembering why I liked each one, and realized that some I had bought thinking I would "make more"--only did that with a couple! LOL

Gosh, thanks everyone. I didn't take pictures of overything because I have sooo much. The tree really looks better with the lights on but I can probably tell you about every ornament on the tree (the flamingo isn't an ornament but a friend gave it to me for my pink tree which I never got up this year) and the little paper angel at the top of the tree in flourescent pink was made by my daughter at the age of 6, she is now 37. I am very sentimental when it comes to my children. What I didn't take pictures of were the Batman, Hulk, and spiderman ornaments from my grandsons - they picked them out for me.

Katheleen, the snowman peeking through the window I purchased at Beall's (a Florida chain). I bought it for a Dirty Santa gift but liked it so much I stole it back. I made a lot of the decorations and I have a passion for snowmen or Santas in pastel colors.

Lynn - it is absolutely freezing here (I am in the Florida panhandle) with temps of 23 degrees this morning and wind chill of 13. You know I did not venture outside today!! The tree is on a revolving base so it is decorated on all sides - I should mention I always have help with the ornaments - my grandchildren love to stand in front of the tree and wait for the thing to turn so they can put on their favorite ornament. You can usually tell how tall they are by how many ornaments are on one section of the tree.

Jenn - I loved those jeans and gave them to a close friend who wears them all the time. I just started wearing jeans for the first time in my life - and I am in my 50's. I have always been a bit prissy with my clothes but I am beginning to loosen up in my old age. LOL

Luvs - I started setting the tables for my party and that is when I took the picture so it was not complete. Then I just got so busy that I forgot to take pictures. Those plates are the Trinity Rose by Crown Staffordshire - I just love them. I purchased those really pretty pink crackled stemware and the silverware with the rose/burgundy handles to go with the dishes. I don't think I have a favorite ornament but will love to post pics of some of mine. My tree is 7.5 feet tall and I am going to get a bigger one for next year because I couldn't put all the ornaments on this year - and I got more for Christmas. My sister sent me the Holiday Heirloom by Waterford Crystal and it goes right up there with the little clay angels my babies made.

Jim, you are so kind. I hope to put it all together is a more cohesive way next year. This year time slipped up on me so quickly that I sort of just put things out without staging them. You certainly have the knack for doing that, I saved your pics for my inspiration file. I never seem to tire of looking at what everyone is doing - but I am a Christmas fanatic and should really start decorating in October in order to get everything done right.

Jaybird - I purchased my reindeer from a friend, his nose blinks and he has a hook on the front for the sign to go. Then I just made the bow and glued the pinecones on - we have loads of pinecones around here. Save the pic for your inspiration file for next year.

Your Santa in the green coat is gorgeous. And I got a glimpse of a rearing horse, is Santa riding him or what? I'd love to see a better photo as I'm a bit horse obsessed.
And those wonderful candleholders, with the ornament balls in them, by the big Santa..3rd photo..where did you find those? They look like wood figures. Really neat.
Your dining table set with the burgundy accents is definitely right up my alley. As Luv's says, that's "my shade of pink". LOL And your Hodge Podge Tree, what fun. I could spend a long time looking at all the ornaments you've collected. The pink flamingo is a hoot.

Take more photos, please. We like to see "everything" as you know, LOL.

Karen, I like to collect Santas that are doing something different or remind me of something in my past. The Santa you are speaking of is riding a horse, he is my Cowboy Santa. The candleholders were a gift last year and they came from Kirklands - I think they are a resin material. The ornament balls are from Dollar Tree and they are candles - really neat for being so cheap. I will take a few more shots before I dismantle everything.

I love burgundy also and I thought my Trinity Rose dishes would look nice with the burgundy charger and the silverware.

PF, Everything is beautiful. You shouldn't feel bad at all posting your pics. I keep going back and looking at them all and I can't pick a favorite, but I do see lots of ideas I would love to borrow. And your dining room table is gorgeous. I love your colors.

Karen, here are a few individual shots. The Santa on a horse is because I loved riding when I was younger, the Santa on a horse with Rudolph is because I collected carousels over the year - didn't realize at first it wasn't a carousel, the bellringer Santa is because I volunteered to ring bells for the Salvation Army, the barber Santa goes in my bathroom, the bottle Santas are from bottles I collected through my lifetime, my milk bottle, a Prell shampoo bottle, the Santas with the cradles are for when I had my two children. You get the idea. There is a Santa and a caroler that was created from a goose egg, there are golfing Santas because my husband and son are golfers, angel Santas and reindeer angel (I use to collect angels), a Santa wreath that I painted and donated to the hospital raffle, a Chef Santa because I don't cook and a mailman Santa because I do the newsletter for my painting chapter. There is also a Russian type Santa because I studied Russian one summer and an old lightbulb santa I painted which came from our outdoor light, and finally a bear on a wreath because I love pink.

These don't all go in the same room, I do try to group them together. The bear with the rag Santa sits in a willow rocker and those have been for the grandchildren who always carry them around when they come over. There is so much more that I have to store them in large rubbermaid containers and trashcans, and even built a large shed to store it all because some of these are pretty good size.

I LOVE that there is such a special connection for you to the Santas. That makes collecting them mean so much more!
I have a cowboy Santa too, he was on eBay a few years ago and was riding a black-white pinto. I had to have him since I love pintos, and my real horses when I was younger were too. I have a Golf Santa of course, since DH practically lives on the golf course. This year at Michaels I found a golfer Nutcracker, so he joined my Santa and they are so cute together. I also have a policeman Santa since both my boys are cops. But my other Santas are just collectibles.
It was fun seeing your Santas, thank you so much for sharing them! Your painting is incredible to me too.
