> Friends, I really need your help. I want to buy a car. More precisely not only myself. For the whole family. Have you considered hiring an architect? An architect can design and build a car you will love. He will interview your entire family to gather the requirements and will decide the proper car orientation. Your crazy aunt Sally wants a space on both of her sides for her favorite cats - no problem, she will love our new design. Space for your pet hamster - we will provide the wheel. 60 Gallon aquarium in the center for your pet shark - what a great idea. An architect can help you avoid costly car mistakes like: closets with no window, the gas chambers, wardrobe closet at the end of a bathroom. [Sorry could not help it] -Pizdabolka

One problem with roof leaks is the homeowner usually only sees the most obvious leak. Fix that problem and you may find that a secondary leak now becomes visible. Or, the roof leak is still there but the entrance path of the water into the interior has been changed by the repair work. If prior questionable workmanship causes a problem in one area, chances are high that similar issues are also present in other areas, just not yet obvious. It is likely that the underlying condition of the roof is more responsible for the new leak than improper repair work in another area. Because roof leaks are notoriously difficult to find and repair in one go, the discussion about what happens if the repair doesn't solve the problem should occur before the initial work is started. Many contractors (especially the less experienced!) are very confident of their skills and don't even consider the possibility of not being successful so negotiating up front is often more favorable to the homeowner. My view is a customer shouldn't have to pay for the same repair twice unless he was specifically warned that the original work would be a carefully applied band-aid but could not be guaranteed. My partner was involved in a similar situation this past summer. He and his roofing buddy decided that the problem was some improper flashing around a dormer and they fixed that problem and then the interior wall and ceiling. However, the next major rain storm occurred and they found that the first repair was needed, but another leak appeared. My partner charged her for the materials and very small amount for labor for the additional work on the other roof issue. He didn't charge for fixing the wall since that was work she had already paid for with the first repair.

It's a rip-off quote, a hundred or two at most should pay for the work to be done by someone capable. It's not brain surgery to uninstall the equipment and plug the holes. klem, with your attitude, I can imagine tradesmen jack up their quotes so as not to have to deal with you. For me, word of mouth and Yelp ratings leads me to plumbers, electricians and all other types who provide great services at fair prices.

As long as you trim the shrubs so they're not scratching the car paint and/or limiting walking/parking area, they're a good idea. If you want a finished driveway right away, decide on the size and shape you want and contact a pro. Or spend a lot of time watching You Tube vids until you have a good idea what you're doing. There are things you can do do minimize your cost ... digging out the place to pour the concrete yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cttBwkR-FK0 If you dig yourself and end up creating a raised curb on the fence side with cap blocks outlining the driveway and soil you remove from the yard, put a barrier against the bottom of the fence and any sod you add beside the fence to guard against fence rust and erosion of the sod through the fence. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Suncast-Dig-In-40-Ft-Resin-Edging-Black-Plastic-Landscape-Edging-Roll/1000573709?cm_mmc=shp--c--prd--lwn--google--lia--236--landscapefabricandlawnedging--1000573709-_-0&placeholder=null&ds_rl=1286981&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4sH1z7bH8AIVAY3ICh25lg2aEAQYASABEgKjovD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds If you decide to add gravel where you dug out the sod rather than pouring concrete), driving on the gravel will pack it down over time and you can make a point of driving over all of it and packing all of it down (not just one row of tracks), then add more gravel as you pack it down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cttBwkR-FK0
