can we have a circle again?

hello dear, dear friends, i was hoping that we could have a prayer circle for our friends who have lost a dear family member (Nora and her family), Helene who's mom, i hope will be on a mend! and all our other friends. seems things are going good for Al (it must be that fresh air, we're making him get, whether he likes it or not - lol), for all our children and their spouses. also for all the forest fires that we seem to have here, and for people who can't beat this heat. Sunday, night at 9 pm i hope you will all join in. as always no need to sign in, just be there and join in. have a wonderful weekend, and drive carefully! debbie

Is this problem sudden or recent? These large swaths of ice-plant almost have seasonal "tides" here in SoCal. During winter rains, they all take on a bright green color, swell with water, and quickly spread. As the warmer, drier summer approaches, they begin a retreat, sometimes giving up most of their winter gains and always showing signs of decline (browns and reds with shriveled leaves). If the die-back is very sudden, or very different compared to previous years, there may be an actual problem. Otherwise, I would guess it is just the annual ebb and flow of succulent life...

If you would like I am pretty sure I will have the following to trade: water celery, yellow water iris - iff not I have seed) and possibly a pale yellow hardy water lily (I have to dig mine up and check come this may). As far as trades go .. I am always up for part sun/shade/woodland ... well anything for a small space garden or container. Surprise me. Sorry to hear that you've had that chilliness to cope with, Pooh Bear: cold houses aren't very pleasant. And pleased that you've got it fixed. Don't tell me that an iddy biddy spider, not even going up a water spout ... ... could frighten a full-grown man like you? Course ... it wouldn't trouble you at all if the spider *did* go up that water spout ... you'd be happy to see it go out there! ole joyful

I recommend PolyWhey for a clear waterbased finish, it's a fabulous finish -- uses milk whey instead of urethane. Has virtually no odor and dries in about an hour. Amazing stuff. Did my staircase with it last year (it dried before the cats even woke from their nap) and it wears like iron. I've switched over to using it entirely for any poly project. There's also BioShield Wood Counter Finish, OSMO, SoyGuard and other oil types that work well and can be recoated easily. You can stain under/with any of these using non-aniline (food-safe) stains. Here is a link that might be useful: polywhey and other bio-shield type safe finishes

Diane how are you doing? is it hot where you are too! seems i got a little sick from our hot weather, not nice to say but i can use the rest! i really don't think it matters, i know He knows that you are part of this special little family we have here!
we had a thunder storm last night so i'm off to see if any plants were damaged, take care and stay cool, everyone! deb
