Wainscoting height for my bathroom (x-post with Bathrooms)
Comments (5)Well now if you stop worrying about every little freaking thing, what happens to us??? We're unemployed ;-) I'm trying to picture your layout but honestly it isn't clear to me. Generally I like to see something other than a 50/50 split but there are other things that come into play - how does that 50/50 or 33/66 relate to the finished height of your vanity counters, to the windows (if any) either at sill or apron height. I like continuity, too and like to see some relation to other horizontal lines in a space - expecially a space like a bathroom. But that doesn't mean everything has to end at the same height, just that you need to put those other lines into the thought process so you don't end up with staggered and unrelated horizontal lines all through the space. Clear as mud?...See MoreBathroom sconce height for 10' ceiling? still 66"?
Comments (3)I just read this over... I was thinking pendant not wall mounted... it's the same... if they are on the sides of the mirrors same.... You need to see yourself and unless you are very tall, that's the norm.... side mounted sconces should, "frame the face"....See MoreNew bathroom vanity, mirror and sconces - help with number of sconces!
Comments (4)If you do 4 sconces, 2 for each mirror, it will make each mirror seem its own entity, IMHO. If you do a double sconce in the middle, it seems like.....an after thought? And the sconces will not be equidistant from each other and the mirror. My OCD kicking in, I suppose. If the space between is larger than the mirrors, I think you should go with 2 separate sconces. If the space is smaller than the mirrors, I think you could go with a double light. Just make sure the spaces are fairly equidistant....See MoreDo folks consider ceiling height when mounting bathroom sconces?
Comments (5)Well there'll be a ceiling mounted light which should theoretically cover the whole room. This then should be decorative but also will provide some coverage to the sides of my face. There are significant height difference across our family. I was hoping to find a one-size-fits most height, that also looks good!...See Morepatty_cakes
