I've been recently collecting as well....I have had some great finds and have been doing lots of research and have been able to date most of my items for the most part...I have come across two items that are too difficult to date or price...one is a white "cereal" bowl with four stripes or bands each in a different Fiestaware color...I'm pretty sure it's 80's but the colors are throwing me off as to the decade it came from...my second item is a tom and jerry mug in yellow...I might have been tricked but I just had a very strong feeling about it....'my two concerns are this...it has no label but I know that fiesta first started they didn't use labels so in that case if there is no label how else do I identify it...the other is I have other mugs that I do believe are from the 80's with rings around the lid and they are bigger in size than the yellow I just found...the yellow is smaller and as no rings on lid...I tried to use other people's posting of supposedly "original" 1936 Fiestaware items and they seem to be very very similar to my yellow one...but mine without label...any help or advice? Please disregard anything oceangirl posts. Only meant to start debates. Ditto what karin mt said. Really not an issue but if it bothers you don't do it. I see you have a microwave. Some (not me) would say that is more of a health concern. Lots of kitchen related stuff can be debated as far as health concerns, such as use of plastics, pesticides in food, etc. We all have to find a lifestyle that makes sense to us. For you I would say get granite. You have no known radon issues in your building. Sounds like you have lots of air low. Your kitchen is not that big. Looks like you are not leaning toward red granite(which may or may not be an issue). Again do what makes YOU comfortable. There is no right or wrong answer.

Romy, that photo is beautiful, and one I hadn't found while searching. Yes, the white grout is what I had been thinking... And, just for anyone's reference who is considering the Allen Roth tiles - yes, the trim pieces listed on the Lowes website as GBI tiles are the Allen Roth tiles. When you order them, they come in Allen Roth boxes - the same as the field tiles. The selection is pretty limited, but I think I could have gotten the windows to work. There is a chair rail piece (you can see it in the photo) and a very thin quarter round. The trim pieces are crazy expensive compared to the field tiles, those - I don't know why. The field tiles are $4 per sf, while the chair rails are $25 for 3 linear feet. And the quarter rounds are $45 for 6 linear feet. Edging around those windows would have doubled my field tile cost. (Still would have been a reasonable backsplash cost, though...) Going with the bevel, though. Thanks everyone! I'll post photos when it's all done...
