Upside-down Chandeliers in 1927 home

So, we just moved into a home built in 1927 and have three of these matching chandeliers. Looking at the wiring and considering that they all match, I might assume they are original to the house. When we moved in they just had regular light bulbs and not only is the glare terrible they looked very strange. These are the best-looking lightbulbs I could find but I would love to learn more information if anyone else knows what they are. Do they make up-side-down shades for these? LOL I wanted to research, but don't know where to start since I have no idea what to call these up-side-down chandeliers. Three pic links below Thanks very much for any comments you might have.
