I look forward to seeing pictures!

My sister did the same thing with her ceiling fans. They were very dated, so she hit them with spray paint and they look fantastic.

I can't wait to see them. It's amazing what spray paint can do. I hated my vanity lights. They were chrome and looked cheap. I sprayed them ORB and they just look nicer IMO.

Sheesharee - I'd love to see pictures of your vanity lights too. We have the worlds cheapest chrome lights, but I haven't found a replacement that I really like yet. Maybe I should just spray paint them in the meantime? What kind of paint did you use?

Looks fantastic! My chandeliers don't have a very nice silhouette so it's not worth spray painting, but I did spray paint my perfectly functional outdoor porch/wall lights. They were bright white and cheap-looking, but after a couple of cans of ORB, they look fantastic, too!

Wow I love it!!! I do like your shades better, I bought new ones but they weren't the right color, I had these from a couple years ago. I felt bad I didn't take any "before" photos and when I saw yours I was so happy, they were identical, funny now they're identical again lol! Your room is beautiful by the way, I still have tons to do in my new home, but it's getting there.

My daughter didn't like her shiny brass chandelier in her new house so she spray painted it shiny white. It looks great. She didn't take it apart, she hung it up in her garage to paint it.

Strawberries, dlm2000 gave me the courage to do it.
We took it outside and hung it upside down and sprayed
it with a few coats, drying between coats.

The shades -- I painted with fabric paint from Michaels,
I mixed a couple of colors together until I got the desired color...the inside I did gold. I like the look
of the gold inside.

I love lamps. I bought a small accent lamp in Home Goods,
came home and wiped on gold paint and trimmed the shade
with fringe. It came adorable.
DH was wondering why I bought it if it wasn't
the right color...men don't always understand these things. :)

I hung mine outside too but it just wasn't working for me I kept getting overspray on the sprayed"arms" and it started to look ruff in texture, so... I took the whole thing apart and then sprayed it again. I used rustoleum oiled bronze, is that what you used? I'm getting inspired now to paint the shades, if I do I'll let you know. I bought I think 10 and still have to return them they weren't the right color. Its funny when you buy a few cans of paint and get such a nice result,I felt so bad spending like 70.00 on the shades! I was like well I am gonna keep the ones I have(maybe I am getting cheap)!!! I painted shades for lamps a few years ago and covered them in lace, it looked so pretty it was in a bedroom, I had a colonial house and lace curtains and I painted the shades a colonial blue, that matched the walls, then you could see it through the lace. Don't know why I just told you about that... hum maybe I miss my old house.

oiled bronze.
I did my shades three times before I was satisfied with the bronzy color that I liked.

cliff and joann and snowberries, what a beautiful job you both did! I have painted lamps before, but have been worried about taking the plunge on my 2 huge, probably expensive when purchased, brass chandeliers. You have inspired me!...(not to say it won't take a few more months for me to get the guts!)

Anyhow, any tips on what you did with the cord and chains? Did you just paint that too?
