Use of Sta-Bil and/or Seafoam gas stabilizers/cleaners
Comments (23)When I worked as a mechanic at a Buick dealership, some of the old mechanics would pour water down the carburetor VERY SLOWLY. The water turns to steam and the shock knocks off the carbon. When the old ladies would bring in those beautiful Buick Electras and Riverias because they idled rough, the Service Manager would take the car out on the freeway and really get after it. I went with him once and you could actually hear the carbon particles tinkling out the exhaust pipes. He would ask if they were burning Ethel as recommended in those 11:1 high compression engines. The customers jaw would jut out and they would say they will only burn regular. Idiots. I think adding transmission fluid to your gas would only carbon up your engine even more, if it did anything. Sorry off topic. I use Stabil and fill the gas tank to the top to prevent condensation from forming when I park my GT for the winter. (I empty my weedwacker, leaf blower and chain saw whenever they won't be used for several weeks.) Six months later the GT starts right up. I don't have any experience with SEaFoam....See MoreAVON Foot Works Intensive Callus Cream questions
Comments (5)Hi, Libbyliz. Funny to find this here today. I just watched the Oprah program today with Dr. Oz and a skin specialist (summer rerun)and they talked about cracked heals. Skin gal said to use a Stridex pad--yes, the Acne medicine--followed by a good slathering of Vaseline or thick skin cream. Cover with socks and leave on overnight. Continue use and you'll never have cracked heals again she said. I've soaked, sloughed off the dead dry skin and applied Vaseline and socks overnight and it really works, so was wondering if adding Stridex would make a difference. And I'd think, use as needed....See MoreQuestion for BARCO (and anyone who has StoneScapes)
Comments (18)Mine was that "am I going to regret plain white plaster" thread and I think some folks who had had both did say they were the same. Barco is right - Stonescapes is cheaper - PebbleTech would have cost an extra $1500. My PB told me it was essentially the same - the pebbles all come from the same factory, the main difference was that PebbleTech really police their installers, which I'm sure is why they have such a great reputation and so many thrilled custmers. However, the StonesScapes rep couldn't have been nicer and more concerned when I spoke to him. Unfortunately, his hands were tied, as to get him out to look at the pool, I first had to go through my PB company (the GM told me he'd been told by the pool start-up guy that I had the best plaster he'd ever seen!), then the plaster company (who came out without telling me and removed "a tiny little leaf" that was stuck in the plaster and was causing the rough spot I spoke about). I was pretty mad about it so the GM has agreed to meet me tomorrow with the StoneScape rep. I was worried that maybe I was being too much of a perfectionist, and I would get the same sneers, and looks of astonishment that I have had from the PB before when thing weren't right (and there have been many!). Anyway, if they say it's okay, I'll live with it. My pool is beautiful, and when the waterfall is running you can't see it anyway. Gina - I do think you are right about them wanting to do the right thing, and I'll certainly sing their praises every chance I get when this is resolved. Also, that is so great that PebbleTech fixed your spot and saved your water. I must remember to ask them to save mine too - I haven't even had the water bill for the fill-up yet and I certainly didn't want to do that again!...See MoreQuestioning Avon Order My Friend Got. Need Opinions(long post)
Comments (25)Avon does not work like this. Please have your friend contact them, and the state Attorney General ASAP. Also here in ND, the media will release warnings regarding scams. Avon will not release names and addresses. I am so glad she did not get caught. Since I do not have a reg. rep. I buy from our local flea market, but even there I am careful, as some of the reps are selling out of date products. Just for a note, a rep buys directly from Avon and can sell the product for any price the want to, unless this policy has changed....See Morecentralcacyclist
