Thanks for the input,,, I think I found what I am looking for, after many take homes and returns. The latest addition to my handbag collection is leather, med-large but not bulky,classic but not old fashioned. A large pocket on either side of the main bag,, and one smaller one along the outside. zippered top, inside big center zippered compartment divides the main section into two parts., plus the usual pocket for cell phone and zip pocket for pens-- it's an Aigner-- and it may just work. Just came in and the only one in the store, so I grabbed it. Seems well made, the only thing I don't like is the lining is brown,, I like the lighter shade linings,,easier to find stuff.

A compulsive, often unreasonable idea or emotion. You asked for a pic of my finished stenciled wall. I did this project at work, not at home. I wanted something a bit over the top in scale. The scroll is almost 3' high though I wish I could have found one about 5'. The walls are 24' so it would have been kinda cool if I brought them up even higher. Didn't want to stencil from an extension ladder though. A broken bone is not in my plans for the future! Anyway, here is a pic. Product has been hastily thrown back in place, so just look at the wall please:) For perspective, the pink is painted to a height of 9'. The stenciling goes around the corner about another 20'. So that project has now led me to the next phase of my obsession which is painting this harlequin pattern on an opposite wall. I'm thinking just a shot of it. Three rows wide and going up about 12'. I found a company that offers diamond shaped stencils in a 4' x 2' size. I could achieve the Harlequin pattern with painters tape, a level and a tape measurer, but that's giving me a headache thinking about it....

I would always recommend a solid drapery panel in a light, neutral color for a master bedroom. IMO the purpose of drapes in a bedroom is privacy and light control, and you want something that is only there to add a layer of "softness" and luxury and richness so you don't want any bold pattern that would disrupt the serene/sophisticated feeling you're going for. Patterns will make your eye look at the drapes, and that's not what you want to be focused on .... you want the drapes to "disappear" into the walls so that you get the feeling of them without being forced to acknowledge them.

Several random thoughts: - First, yeah, that ain't no Belt Bag - it's just a fanny pack rebranded. - Second, a couple practical thoughts: Can your mom reach the belt around herself /fasten it? Once it's on, can she easily access the bag, given that it's held up against her body /she cannot set it on a cashier's counter to go through her things? - Would I wear one? No, I'd rather not bring attention to my waist, which isn't my favorite body part. But I can't deny that they could be practical for someone like your mom, who has some physical challenges but still needs to carry things when she's out. - I am a fan of the cross-body bag ... and you might consider getting her one of those "stick on pockets" for the back of her phone; that'd allow her to keep her license and credit card on her phone ... and those items could be "enough" for simple trips. - Is she tech-y? Could you set her up to "pay with her phone" so that she needs to carry fewer things? Similarly, could you change her door key to a key pad so she doesn't need to carry house keys? - As she neared 100, my grandmother gave up a bag and started carrying her house keys and a tiny change purse on a lanyard around her neck. From a style point of view, that's probably worse than a backpack, but it was functional for her. - Like an above poster, I have a belt for running. It fits up tight against my waist /under my tee, and it could hold a ton of stuff -- and stays still. Mine's similar to this one, but I wouldn't recommend this for an elderly person; it has to go over your head, and that might be difficult for her. I make NO claims that it's even remotely stylish, but I do enjoy using it for running.
