Comments (82)I love many of the finds pictured here. I live in an economically depressed, rural area, and most of Craigslist is uninspiring and often unintentionally funny. Some people have big ideas about what their junk is worth! We've done well in the Farm & Garden section, however, both buying and selling. This summer I acquired a riding mower for $375 delivered. The owner is a mechanic (turned out he retired from the company my son works for), and the mower was well cared for. But mostly I came back here to thank My3dogs for starting this thread. As soon as I saw the title, I remembered that it had been awhile since I last checked Craigslist for a cedar wardrobe. My house is very old, and has almost no closets. I've been keeping my various jackets in an ancient but worthless wardrobe that is ready to fall apart, so I've been looking for a good replacement for about a year. Most of the ones listed had no bar for hanging clothes, and were overpriced anyway. So I saw your thread and went directly to Craigslist, where I found the perfect cedar wardrobe: just the right size, with a bar inside the top and a nice drawer on the bottom--for $75! The people even agreed to keep it for me until after Christmas, when my son can get it with his pickup. Thanks, and happy holidays to all!...See MoreShare your Black Friday - Cyber Monday bargains here!
Comments (30)I bought a 6 qt Instant Pot on Amazon for DD at a good price and a couple of flannel shirts for DH at Eddie Bauer. He likes slim fit tall. But EB notified me today one of the shirts is sold out! How could that be they let me buy it yesterday and now tell me it’s not available? I was not happy about that, especially since they were 50% off yesterday only. And of course it was the one I really wanted in his fave school colors. I also got the hiking poles for DGD with a $20 gift card to use later. So I’m saving it for another purchase. Also picked up a few other odds and ends for stocking stuffers or dirty Santa gifts....See MoreLet's show our latest Lowe's markdown rack bargains
Comments (9)Irma, when I think of all the money I've spent on plants over the years, I could have bought a freaking house! Now I simply don't have the money, so my gardens have to be self-supporting. I've been working on these gardens for 4 years, and they are only just starting to pay for themselves, but I never did spend a lot on them, so that's a good thing. My goal is to provide avid gardeners with plants they could not otherwise afford for as little as is reasonably possible. Also, to get rid of plants I tried to grow and ended up not liking, but know that someone may like. People here on GW and IRL have been so generous to me, I have to pay some of it back by giving things away, of course. Anyone who buys things from me walks away with at least one free plant, sometimes more free plants than what they buy. I just love to see the happiness on their faces....See MoreWhat are your latest blooming daylilies?
Comments (9)We are in west central Indiana and we love late bloomers. We appreciate ones such as Autumn Minaret, but our favorites are lates with teeth, edges, eyes, etc. We grow mostly tetraploid lates, but there are a lot of diploid lates. Here are some of my favorites. North Wind Dancer is a late blooming diploid. It increases fast in our garden. Last Man Standing is showy. Carrots Forever is a good grower.Cactus Blossom is another good grower.Deborah Cooney is another great grower. Sonoran Desert Rose, our introduction, is a great grower--tall, vigorous, and hardy. Time doesn't allow me to post all my pictures but you might check out Crossfire, Reindeer Antlers (both red), Ruffled Strawberry Parfait, Techny Peach Lace, Buena Fortuna. We have a section on late bloomers on our website. You can see pictures of more there. The web address is cherryhillgarden.plantfans.com. Nancy...See Moremama goose_gw zn6OH
