Well, I guess I don't get to guess anyone's age since it has all been revealed. Allison - WOW! I so want the name of your surgeon since Im in TN, so could easily make a trip to AL. You look amazing and you've got a peaches n cream skin (hatin ya!!) Mona - you look so awesome & what a cutie you are!! I, too, want your make-up secrets and too funny @ the story you told about the older woman. Eclectic - you are beautiful and I wouldn't have guessed 40. Ive noticed women of color age beautifully & you will too. Cooperbailey - You are a doll & it's weird but from your post you look like I would expect you too. Very approachable. Sueb - you have those dark hershey bar eyes that are gorgeous! Judiegal - you have that beautiful dark Italian coloring and hair. You look awesome & all those are your girls??!! OMG - 1 child just about did me in!! Stinky - 48....no way, girl!! Pesky - you have nary a wrinkle & your DH doesn't even look younger than you!! So your having eyelid surgery, too. I really want to comment about everyone b/c I feel as women we need to hear about the beautiful we do have. Women can be so catty that they don't often compliment other women. know I too often pick myself to misery with comparing myself to others that are younger, skinnier, more stylish.....the list goes on. I am going to put a thought out there that hasnt been mentioned yet, but is a possible explanation for part of the young mans aversion to his ill half brother. My sister passed away a few years ago, at the age of 35, after a six month battle with cervical cancer. ( get your pap smears ladies, it could save your life) After her original diagnosis, which occurred right around Xmas time, everyone , friends, immediate family, long lost relatives, all came to see her. It was assumed that she would recover, since most cervical cancer does not result in death, because its caught early on. Sadly, that was not the case with my sis. As it became more obvious that she was very gravely ill, people began to withdraw from her. In the last four months of her life, most of the family who were not immediately close to her, made excuses why they couldnt get over to see her, and ALL, and i do mean ALL of the young men in the family between the ages of 15 and 35, pretty well avoided her like the plague. Many many young adults cannot handle the thought of human mortality, and are extremely uncomfortable with someone who is seriously ill. Men are worse at it than women are. This young man doesnt feel particularly close to the six year old anyway, since, although they share a dad, they are more than twenty years in age difference, and a lifetime apart in experiences. Instead of assumeing that this young man is intending to be hurtful and insulting... Perhaps he is just uncomfortable with the thought of death or illness, as MOST people his age are, and is avoiding the boy for that reason, since they havent been particularly close, because of age and circumstance. I just am not ready to hang this young man out to dry for behaviour that I saw fairly often from many people during my sisters illness. People who were otherwise very good caring people.

If anyone is interested in seeing the show, they're running all episodes to date on Sunday evening on TVLand. GWLake, I agree that, as usual, the continuing episodes aren't as good as the first couple, and it's not the kind of show that Sex and the City was (though I wasn't a fan of that show). I don't think her husband was controlling, however. More absent and untrustworthy (gambling addict, then philanderer). I don't see that her friends control her either. Yes, she's trying to fit in, but she interferes with them just as much or more as they do her. It's really more that with this group there's an instant, filters off, intimacy that's more characteristic of people that age. Interesting question about whether one would want to try to pass for younger. I had to go to a big meeting on my birthday and everyone who said Happy Birthday asked if it was my 29th. Everyone. It was hysterical. But, of course, the point is there's no way I could pass for 29. I could probably pass for mid-30's if I were able to remember which things I wasn't supposed to be able to remember. I have a genetically youngish complexion and my hands and neck aren't bad. People generally think I'm substantially younger than I am based on looks. But would I want to live a lie? Never! Would I do it if it were the only way I could get a decent job in my field? I don't know at what point of desperation I'd be willing to throw my scruples to the wind, but everyone has one. Where it involves legal papers and signing oaths, I probably couldn't go. I wouldn't want to do anything illegal. It used to be that using a false name wasn't illegal so long as one didn't do it for purposes of fraud. I imagine that the would be the same with a false age, too. Since age discrimination is illegal, adjusting the age to meet expectations only tilts it back in favor of what it should have been to begin with. But I think that's all illegal nowadays because of the post-911 freedoms eliminations, and even if it isn't, employment applications often have avowals of truth, which would make it fraud. Plus, I don't think in the data age that you can actually get away with it. Big employers have simple background checks that would find that her stated year of graduation wasn't correct. Would I continue it to get something going with a guy I really liked? That's harder and easier. It would be so tempting, but who wants a relationship based on a lie. I don't think I could. Especially because a 26-year-old guy dating a 26-year-old girl, even if he isn't thinking actively about it (because guys rarely do) has to have lingering in his subconscious that the girl he's wild about is a potential mate and mother. When I was that age, one of my friends married a 40-year-old woman, but he knew exactly who she was when they met, and there were a lot of issues that wouldn't have been there with a woman his own age. Every generation criticizes the sexual mores of their children, including back in history when they criticized them for being mealy-mouthed prudes. Thanks for the great questions. :)

I was standing in Starbucks the other day and there were these two younger teenage looking girls standing, waiting for their drinks. Both had the same dull uninviting looks on their faces. Both had their arms crossed and they stood there, with the gloomy look on their faces and arms crossed. It was almost as if, the world had inconvenienced them. That's how their faces read. I finally started staring and when one noticed me, I smiled and finally got one to perk up and lose the dreaded facial expression. Then their names were called (drinks were ready). They walk over, don't make eye contact with the barista, and grab their drinks. Not one "thank you" no eye contact, nothing. I wanted to slap the look off their faces. God help me if I ever have kids... They WILL say thank you. I'll be that mean mom that says, "walk back and say thank you, and put a smile on your face while you're at it" lol.... Some people, especially the younger ones are so wrapped up in themselves that they forget other humans are nearby with feelings. I worry what the world will be like in 5, 10, 15 years... I hate so say it, but yes, I think many kids nowadays lack basic manners. If I sent a nice gift or did anything above and beyond, and didn't get some type of response (thank you note, call, visit, etc) then I would be offended and likely wouldn't ever do anything for that person again (unless there was a legitimate reason)... But still, how easy is it to say thank you? It doesn't take long. People are just getting more and more selfish with their time. I could go on and on...
