though a nice garden.. it is rather flat .. i would try for some verticals .... i would put Thuja occidentalis 'DeGroot's Spire' midline to the outer most edges of the windows .... i have one 8 foot by about 1 ft wide .... picea pungens 'girards dwarf' .. a blue slow growing ball in the middle .... and 4 Juniperus horizontalis 'Mother Lode' ... one on each side of the blue ball .. and outer side of the Thuja occidentalis 'DeGroot's Spire' .. might even put some Thuja occidentalis 'DeGroot's Spire' .. on each side of the front door ... with the motherlodes .... and i cant see the rest of the house ... all should be available mail order ... google girard's nuresery for that one ... and try google images for all the latin names above ..... if you can find differing sizes of de groots .... i might add the smaller spikes.. for diversity ... ken

To answer some of your questions: I dampen & then moisturize my face before applying foundation & after that dries I use concealer & then pressed powder to rid the shine. Maybe if I left the shine from the foundation that would be the dewy look but yet I find it greasy looking & am not fond of that either, ugh! Maybe I'm using the wrong terms in ref to light reflecting or illuminating but what I am refering to are cosmetics I've seen on shopping chanels & they are supposed to be better for mature skin b/c they "diffuse" the light supposedly making one look air brush & not focusing on the lines. I don't have many lines - I'm 38 & have been told I look like 25 but who doesn't want to take advantage of technology & look better & more youthful when possible. I also think some of these wands highlighters are used more to highlight the good features so yur eyes is drawn away from the darker or worse features. I was hoping someone had had experience with them to see how they REALLY work. I don't use waterproof foundation but I think it's long lasting. It's lightweight & washes off with soap & water & it's the perfect light coverage to even out my skin tone duringthe winter month. The only problem I have with my current foundaiton is I was hoping to have the same quality LONG LASTING product without the matte look. Using moisurizer, which I do in my opinion makes no differnece b/c moisutrizer dries. The reason I use it is to help the foundation glide more smoothly & evenly. I am definitely not interested in mixing colors. Finding the color isn't the problem. Maybe in yrs past when I'd get that ring around the mouth maybe I didn't do such a good job of color matching & maybe I should give the newer products a try even though they don't claim to be long lasting. Ponderinstuff~ I'd be interested in the name of the product you use if you have it. Thanks everyone. Michie

Thanks for the tip! I'm not even 50 yet but I definitely feel my facial skin changing on me. I just don't feel like myself anymore! I just got all fresh makeup and the foundation I bought made me look so pasty and pale! I think I'll use your tip and try a little darker shade.

My dermatologist recommended CeraVe. I use the moisturizing lotion on my face, morning and night -- haven't tried the one with sunblock. I slather the moisturizing cream (in a jar) all over the rest of me after I bathe. (And I do mean *slather*.) I know the cream is intended for the face, but I don't care. I like this much better than Lubriderm or any oil. She also recommended Cetaphil body wash, but it leaves a sort of greasy feel. I was told to avoid hot baths -- not doing that either. (Bad patient.) Maybe it I 'cut' the Cetaphil with baking soda, like Sushipup... Who has something good for the cuticles? Mine want to take over my nails. I can't push them back without bleeding -- even after a bath -- and then they won't stay back. There's no 'give' there. At 75, my skin is too thin. Well, *I* am too thin, too. BTW, it's my understanding that we have skin to form a protective *barrier*. This means none of the products you put ON your skin go much beyond the surface. Some of the products 'rough up' (destroy) the top layer of cells so that they slough off faster (the 'glow'), but a 'moisturizer' can really only put a layer of protection between your skin and the drying air. 'Moisturizers' that promise more should probably all be labeled "Hope" or "Faith" or "The Power of Positive Thinking" because our protective layer of skin won't let them penetrate. They can only help keep drying air away from whatever moisture is IN the skin.
