I looked at all the products on the shelf & walked away with nothing! How do you know which product is better. Each has such a different description that I can't decide which is actually better or which one I actually need. Is there a site comparing all that's out there?

GeeBee, you are absolutely right, I have tried many but one I consider neutral enough is the yellow Dramatically different one by Clinique............Â Â Â
I have bought expensive serums from my aesthetician but have seen no big difference.
I like to spend my money on a good facial every 3 months; I am still looking for a good day and night moisturizer....
I've been told that Visage by Nivea is very good; they use the same chemists as the Laprairie people or else it's the same mother company... I am going to try that next...

This is a hard one to answer. There are so many factors, e.g., your age, condition of your skin, where you live, lifestyle, etc. I don't think an objective comparison of moisturizers truly exists.

I think the best advice is to go with something basic, gentle, and neutral. Something off the shelf of the drugstore rather than from the costmetics counter, because at the counter (Clinique, Shesheido, Estee Lauder, etc.) it will not be objective.

I swear by Cetaphil as a cleanser, but have not tried the moisturizer, though that is the type of product I would suggest. Along with Aveda product line. And my girlfriend who is 50 and with great skin uses Oil of Olay only. She says anything else is a waste of money. Ask ten women and you will receive 10 different answers.

I was weaned on Clinique (stepmom was one of their first consultants and used to do all the grand openings at the big stores), but their moisturizer was never right for me, especially as I grew older. Plus my dermatologist has it on her shelf with a big red "X" over it. She put me on Kinerase moisturizer and I paid dearly for it. Good stuff, but then! my cousin turned me onto Beauti Control products. Great day and night time moizturizer. I love the stuff. She's a consultant though and I may be bias, plus I receive a discount. I do envision that I will use this for several years, then change again because my needs will be different. Plus, I had skin cancer and am on Retin A forever, so I always have to juggle.

I think that your diet, exercise, and skin care routine is more important than the moisturizer. But I do understand wanting one that fits you. I go by feel and I love how the Beauti Control moisturizers feel on my skin. They absorb, but don't leave a greasy feeling and don't break out my skin. See there. I didn't even provide a link. :)

I just opened 2 huge bags of MGPS last night,and yes the same thing happened to me!!!! I already threw some soil under my trees, bushes and knockout roses., before I noticed that Horrible odor emerging from the bag! Like......if something died in the bag! I hope I did not do damaged to my garden! It will be pretty hard to remove that smelly soil! I can’t believe this is Miracle Gro Soil! Im not sure if I should use this soil to plant my Cannas. I spent a lot of money on the plants and don’t want to see my Flower plants go to waste! I’m thinking maybe moisture seep into the bag and perhaps ithe soil needs to dry out For a few days before using the soil! does anyone have any idea what to do? Miracle Gro Soil is losing their credibility with me that’s for sure. I will be contacting the company.

We had our whole house re floored in LVP In June 2021. Within a few months a portion of the kitchen started bubbling up and splitting at the seems. The flooring guy originally came and said that he believed it was sun damage coming from our glass sliding door. We ended up replacing the door with uv protection glass and the flooring guy replaced the whole kitchen floor with a moisture barrier paper underneath. During the demo they said there was possible moisture on the floor. We had a plumber out and he determined we did not have a leak. Just a few months later it started to happen again in a different area of the kitchen. When they installed the lvp originally they went right over tile, so this time he took up the tile as well so we could see what was happening. There was no obvious water or leak. We then had all our pipes looked at. Our drain pipes scooped. Inside and outside, pool, etc. Spent a ton of $ on tests. There was no leak to be found. We think we must have a foundation slab that has a high moisture content or the soil below has a lot of moisture? That’s all we could come up with. This time for the 3rd installation they put down a moisture barrier epoxy, a wood plank sub floor, and glued the lvp down to that. It made it a year after that, but we have the same problem happening again. So they have replaced the flooring in the kitchen 3 times in less than 3 years and it needs to be replaced again now. We had the manufacturer out and they of course blamed the installation. It is mind boggling. We have had so many plumbers, and flooring companies out and no one has ever agreed on what the problem is. So, I have to replace the kitchen floors again and this time need to do something other than the LVP that matches the rest of the house. I have heard about epoxy/ painted concrete flooring and thought that might flow better than tile. Do you have a knowledge as to if it would hold up to moisture fumes as that is our best guess as to the moisture problem we have? Tile is the other option and that is what was originally in the house and there didn’t seem to be any issues with tile. any ideas?

If the bathroom gets only minimal use, and the high relative humidity is an ongoing issue, the root cause isn't likely to be poor ventilation during or after a shower. A couple of things to consider: 1. Moist air is more buoyant than dry air so it's typical to have higher relative humidity on the upper floors of a home. Get a hygrometer and check the relative humidity in the bathroom so you know the baseline. 2. Check to ensure proper performance of the 2nd floor HVAC system. If the 2nd floor is normally unoccupied, you still need to operate the HVAC to dehumidify the space. 60% is the top end. I like to maintain relative humidity at 50% or less to limit the potential for mold/mildew growth. 3 Keep the bathroom door open when the bathroom is not in use. There aren't HVAC returns in bathrooms (returns are prohibited by code) so return air flow relies on the undercut in the door which is usually inadequate. 4. Ditch the fan(s) in that attic. Operating them can change the pressure balance in the home and pull moisture into the home from crawl spaces, stud cavities, etc. 5. Check for moisture sources like a damp crawl space or basement. Seal any sources of air leakage into the bathroom from the attic. 6. Make sure to operate bath vent fans when showering and a range vent hood fan when the range is in use to vent moisture from those sources to the outdoors.

Concrete is very porous. If it doesn't have a vapor barrier under it, then that water just migrates straight through the slab in liquid or vapor form. It's then trapped under the impermeable plastic layer. Where you get mold. This is one of the reasons carpet was a popular choice over slabs. It's vapor permeable. It lets the water escape.

After trying many different products I use {{gwi:1392167}} (box and bottle at left) and find it's perfect for my skin. We don't get the same product here in Spain so I have to buy it in Canada when we go there on holiday. I bring home three bottles with me as a year's supply. I put it on in the morning and again after washing my face during the day.

At night I clean my face with Nivea Visage (Spanish bottle on the right) milky cleanser, or if that's not available a similar product by L'Oreal. Then wash using a facecloth with warm then cool water and don't use any night creams when I go to bed.

My (over-fifty) slightly dry skin stays clear and I don't yet have any wrinkles or crowsfeet.

For a fun read and rating on all beauty products go to your local library and get the book entitled: Don't Go To The Cosmetic Counter Without Me.
A real eye opener..price means nada when it comes to what's good. $1 product may work as well as a $50 product. Book rates lipsticks, mascara, facial wash - everything.
