Length of pants for this suit??

Hi. I just bought a silk taupe colored suit. It has a long jacket --the kind that comes to mid-thigh. I need to have the pants shortened. I think it will look best if the pants are at or just above ankle length. I'll wear it with a about a 2" sandal.It's not really dressy.

Will this look too short -- like floods? This is shorter than I would normally wear a pants suit, but most of my suits have regular length jackets, This suit is for two early evening fund raising parties I will attend in mid- May.

Personally, I would make the pants long and flowing, breaking at the top of your shoes.... it will lengthen the leg and be proportionate to the jacket, which seems gorgeous by the way...
I have a few longer jackets and I kept the pants long. I wear shorter pants in a more casual way and with twin sets or shorter jackets.....

Thanks -- that's a good point. Maybe what I need is more length rather than less. So, you know about fashion as well as kitchens!!

When my son was a teen and very much in to skateboarding he wanted skin tight jeans because baggy, saggy pants were not conducive to competitive skating. Back then (early 2000's) mens skinny jeans did not exist so he would buy girls jeans. He's also a bean pole-tall and hipless. No one ever considered he was wearing girls pants-so I doubt juniors athletic pants in black or blue would be noticed by anyone on a boy.

Mtn., I've been wearing palazzos for several years now and I love them! I don't wear them in public though, only to friends or family dinners where I can look good and feel comfortable at the same time. Especially at Thanksgiving because the waist has elastic, and at Christmas because it's easy to maneuver around playing toys on the floor. lol. I always get a pretty print and wear a solid color top. This morning was grocery day after not going to the store for two weeks. Almost $600 worth. I wore my stretch capris (my calves are fine, thank you) and boy did they do the job. My cart was full on the lower shelf, a 28 lb. box of kitty litter, huge bag of dry dog food, two cases of wet dog food, etc. I swear by those pants!

Thanks, Sue! I also love the ruffle jacket but I wish it was in a crepe material.. and a tad shorter. The pants I want to wear do need a shorter jacket.. but the pants are easy to switch out. I may try the jacket. LOVE the bell sleeves we're seeing this year-- I picked up a few for summer and they always perked up my day and made me feel fun and cute. Not loving talbots lace this season but I am keeping my eye out for a pretty bell sleeve. Funny you mentioned a kimono.. I wore one today and I don't know. Easy as they are, I just don't feel "dressed" in one. I have a ton of variations on a black suit and I am wondering if I should just wear something I have and putting my $$$ into new jewelry! I have this jacket in black (sorry no pics of the black) that I think is a little more special than "office wear".. Thank you all again for sticking with me through my body shaming and indecision. If there were such a thing as karma, this would be a whole lot easier for me after spending so much time helping my mom and my sister (MOG).
