The entire premise of a rain shower head is a soft downpour of water. Like rain. Get it?

If you want a forceful spray (bullets?), you need a shower head with a needle spray or one that is designed to deliver a forceful spray. No rain shower is likely to meet your expectations.

Not my expectations I am after, I want to know what this shower head feels like. As posted I have a rain shower head and we like it but it is not forced air. I would like some feed back from personal experience with this shower head. Thanks

This is not true for the air forced rain showers.

I don't have the 10" rain shower but I do have a 7". It is forceful enough without being biting. My local showroom has it on working display with other shower heads that don't have air, the difference is crystal clear. Maybe you can find a showroom that has these on working display in your area.

Wa8b ok, so you like it enough to keep it for your own personal use, that's good. I went to showroom that might have had it on display but the example booth was pretty much the first stop in the show room and we really hadn't decided on anything much at that point, I should go back and see if they have this puppy hooked up. I am sure it will be ok, just don't want to roll the dice with that much money. Crossing T's dotting i's you get the point.

WE are getting this exact rainshower. We felt the 12 inch one in the showroom and the pressure is good.

Our sales consultant explained that the early rainshowers acted like watering cans - the water just poured out without any kind of pressure. That's why it could take forever to wash shampoo out of one's hair. Newer rainshowers, including this Hansgrohe, have pressure - not like needles, but just a force that will help wash out shampoo. The Hansgrohe uses air to do this.

So when I stuck my hand under this one, the water felt good - not sharp but it came out forcefully enough. We went with the 10 inch so that it's large enough to envelop the person while showering. Also, depending on how low you mount the showerhead, the cone of water gets larger. The price difference between the 12 inch and the 10 inch was large. If we need a large cone of water, then we can just mount the 10 inch a bit higher. Does that make sense?

If you are in the Chicago area, Banner Plumbing Supply has a bunch of showerheads installed in a large, working shower. If you make an appointment for afterhours, you can come in your bathing suit and test them out! Along with the air tubs, whirlpools, etc... But we didn't do that ;)

teddy: That is a really cool idea. We are probably going to go with some sort of rain shower head for our master bath remodel (which is still a ways away). I like the idea of being able to really test them out. Both Hubby and I are very particular abou our shower wants/needs.

Thanks Teddy, great info and I think I will call and see if it is hooked up so I can try it. Still nervous over that kind of investment. I did see on-line an American Standard 1660.683.002 10" modern rain shower head, it looks really really close to this one at least from the picture I saw and was around 150.00. I have not had time today to do the research on that. The site I was on had almost no info. Thanks again for your time.

Look for it on Ebay. I bought a new one from a plumbing store going out of business. It is a great showerhead and I paid a fraction of the store price.

Cool viacap! Anymore info to help narrow my search? Have you installed it? Do you like the feel of it? I had pretty much given up and found Aquabrass to have a nice looking one.
