This BBQ grill seems fairly new on the market, and a friend of our bought one at Costco. There doesn't seem to be any other experiences on them, so I posted a new thread in the Cooking Forum. With winter coming, grills often go on sale, so I thought I'd better get this up on the boards before the remainder get tucked away in warehouse inventory! I bought a middle-of-the-road grill last time just for that reason. The grill I had prior to this one was more inexpensive, probably around $150, and useless other than right around the edges. Stuff would sit in the middle forever and just "steam" while the edges would burn. I went up to one around the $350 range and it's much better, however, it's still hotter at the back and sides than the front and middle. I would love to invest in a "Cadillac of grills" type model, but right now, that's just not in the budget! The one I have is fine for what we use it for. I'm not one that makes roasts or anything like that on the grill. It's hotdogs and hamburgers, and chicken mostly, occasionally sausages or ribs, and some veggies. Once in a while I grill fish, but it cooks so fast it's just as easy to do indoors, even in summer. Lisa

Grill is the only way I've done a turkey in some time. Never timed mine just let the charcoal burn all the way out... probably 4-5 hours. Does not make a picture perfect turkey but a leg bone will pull off when it is done. Mine usually fall apart getting them off the grill... sorta gotta roll it into a pan. Boiling the bones and skin after you are done eating off it makes a fine broth. Broth is smokey so it makes fine bean soup. Strain it to get the skin and bones back out. : ) lyra

You can absolutely cook a turkey on a wood pellet grill. The most important thing is temperature regulation (both on the grill/smoker and the ability to measure the interior temp of the turkey - 165 in the thick part of the breast means it is safe). Most pellet grills impart a nice wood fired flavor (especially at lower temps) and the turkeys we've cooked over ours have been amazing. Here's a google link to a bunch of recipes. Good luck!
